Curious to see how Oso does with extended run!

Are we able to sign a guy like Charles Bassey out of the G League to a 10 day to help absorb minutes?

Forgot to include Kuwait in the Signal Chat. Maybe we should Tweet them next time to let them know?

So maybe 1 or 2 teams tanking 1-2 games? Sounds like a massive improvement. If you have a better idea, I’m all ears.

The only way to end tanking, flip the draft odds… give the best odds to the teams with the best records that miss the play in game. You have to incentivize winning and desensitize losing.

Wow… that’s a long time! Can I ask why so long? I generally find our fluorescent signal degrades after about a week, even when using the fancy reagents with best practices… doesn’t mean that there isn’t fluorescence to image, but the quality of the signal is attenuated, especially in fine processes.

How long is a ‘long’ time? Endogenous or exogenous fluorescence? How big are the structures you want to preserve for imaging?

Very excited to read this! Thank you for sharing!

Could the Cavs be setting themselves up for a Giannis trade? A trade package centered around Garland? Maybe send Allen to a third team for a young player/picks? Mitchell, Ellis, Mobley, and Giannis plus a fifth player? Schroeder is the backup PG? Completely crazy or could it have legs?

Of the teams with realistic odds of getting a top 5 pick, what are the most interesting situations? What player(s) do you like most with what team(s)?

Totally fair. I don’t expect a G-Leaguer to start midseason either. I think the lack of a PG is the biggest thing capping their ceiling. Given that, taking a near-zero-cost swing on Banton feels easier than giving up real assets in a trade, even if it’s just to help stabilize non-Ant minutes.

That’s fair but I do think the improved shooting this year changes the calculus. If he can be a legit shooting threat, he might fit better as a low-usage glue guy in the starting group, then slide Donte into a 6th-man role w/ Reid. That lineup balance might help the offense & defense.

Do you think the Wolves should take a swing on Banton? He could really help with ball handling and playmaking! He can defend, pressure the rim, and has shown an improved shot this season. I think he has a ton of potential!

@geraldbourguet.bsky.social trade talks are heating up but I’m most interested in Delano Banton & Charles Bassey. Banton brings size & playmaking. Can get to the rim & shown improved shooting. Bassey brings boards & defense. Could come off the bench but I think he could our best C. Thoughts?

Very cool! Is it possible to adapt from in vitro to in vivo imaging?

Take $100 million of salary away from any team and they will suck, but it doesn’t mean PHX is any good… I think PHX is going to fall apart and this will be the year that Booker asks out.

This suggests that Trump’s policies won’t have a significant effect. The events of the first two years, mainly the perception of the economy, will be the largest driving factor.

Anyone else not ready for summer to end? Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for my first real fall in over twenty years but there’s something about being surrounded by so much life. It insulates you from the chaos of the world and, even if only for a moment, lets you exhale.

Why do you think microglia are bad, rather than the damage that is signaling their recruitment/proliferation?

That was the trainer’s hypothesis too, but our mice data suggests that there could be something more. I’m guessing it multifaceted with individual variability.

Thank you! Keep me posted if you observe a similar phenomenon. I’m also curious how stress affects likelihood is sustaining a concussion… Are student athletes at elevated risk during heavy exam periods? Does that stress affect risk of concussion or severity of symptoms?

Talking with a local athletic trainer, they told me that they see more concussions earlier in the season and a decrease as the season progresses. Self selecting by removing vulnerable individuals or evidence of a stress response?

We were surprised too! We wanted to show the idea of cumulative vs repetitive TBI, but some inter injury intervals seemed to improve outcomes measured by sleep. So far it’s all preliminary/pilot data and waiting on funding… could be a long wait.

Suggests that there could be benefits to slowly scaling up contact in sports & not just allow but encourage it in practice to reduce injuries. One impact may precondition & prepare the body for a subsequent impact. Reducing contact in practice could potentially increase injuries during competition.

Does drinking on Wednesday reduce/prevent a hangover Saturday morning? It’s still early, but some of our work with repetitive head injury in mice suggests that after injury there is a period of increased vulnerability, decreased vulnerability, and then a return to normalish vulnerability.

Didn’t you hear? Trump’s uncle was a college professor. Trump never had to study, he inherited his ‘bigly’ brain from his racehorse jeans. Aced the SAT, just like his cognitive exams. But the most impressive part? He did it after shooting a 17 on 18 holes, beating Kim Jong’s record. Legend.
