Eisenhower
In 2003, we warned against the catastrophic consequences of US-led regime change in Iraq.
We were ignored — and hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives.
Political leaders should learn the lessons of history, and stand up for international law, sovereignty and peace.
Last week, I was asked whether I supported strikes on Iran.
My position remains the same.
anyone choosing this moment to be all "here's what you get with republicans: bombs in the middle east" needs to grow up rapidly, considering what the last dem admin did in gaza & their current support for trump's actions right now. this is what you get with (wholly bipartisan) american imperialism
CNN: The Ayatollah has been killed. What's your reaction?
CONGRESSMAN SETH MOULTON (D-MA): Great. I mean, this guy is terrible. He's evil. But that doesn't mean that it's legal or constitutional...
The updated total of children killed is 57.
Anyone thinking that US-Israel massacres of Iranian people will "liberate" anything but markets & resources must contend with the reality that they are cheerleaders for the world's villains. No war with Iran.
Just look at the difference
"We see [Israeli] attacks still occurring. But we also see complete impunity."
Amnesty International USA’s Amanda Klasing tells @premthakker.bsky.social the organization warned the White House in 2023 about Israel’s non-adherence to international humanitarian law.

This week Ancillary Mercy finally came through after like a month's wait :)
Cannot tell you how hard I would be campaigning for the "Prosecute them all. Stack the court. Term limits on justices. Age limit on congress." candidates.
Interesting detail:
In trying to frame Leqaa Kordia sending money to her family in Palestine as supporting Hamas, DHS claims she's financially aided "individuals living in nations hostile to the US."
Are they conflating Hamas with Palestine — and also inadvertently recognizing Palestine as a state?
I want folks to realize white people are not fighting for a better country.
They are fighting to go back to being able to ignore the horrors of police brutality and the belief that the best expression of civic good is voting for a candidate aligned with US imperialism.
We're not on the same team.
imagine having 73000 lives on your ledger and walking around breathing air. the things I want to type would have the fbi at my house.
"None of this would have happened under Harris" is wishful thinking which denies the violence that the US state still inflicted when she was VP, & also doesn't matter.
You must build something BEYOND bourgeois duopoly, rather than bemoaning that your uncle doesn't have access to a time machine.
Think about it like this. This ICE agent was on camera and unmasked — fulfilling one of three "demands" Democratic leader Chuck Schumer just issued in order to agree to save Republicans and give DHS even more money.
And he was still threatening to kill someone.
The Senate bill is rooted in the idea that we just need to get BP/ICE "back to" only terrorizing people we deem worthy of being terrorized, and not White people. The exact problematic understanding people have been trying to warn against... While a lot of White people insisted that concern was silly
if ur still blaming “uncommitted/third party voters” and not the2 parties who have consistently ran on strong borders, increased police budgets, and strong military idek what to say
blaming anyone who’s not actively doing this is a waste of time but blaming people against genocide is a choice
Instead of demanding that ICE be abolished, we’ve seen a number of Democrats call their agents improperly trained.
Things wouldn’t be different if funding paid for more tech or training.
This is a playbook we’ve seen before. 🧵 (1/4)
Happy Friday, folks! I authored a piece that appeared in Scientific American this afternoon. Some folks will see the title of this piece and worry I have turned against nuclear energy. I assure you I have not.

It has occurred to me that people are finally mad because a white citizen was killed even though they didn't give a shit when it was immigrants dying unless to use us as props in arguments against ICE
This is literally what they do whenever a Black person is killed by police. No matter how solid the evidence is, they will keep pushing that lie, not just to poison the conversation and make sure the killer walks free, but to reassert the political idea that these people deserve to be killed.
The media (and everyone else) need to stop referring to ICE as "law enforcement".
They are out to perform "ethnic cleansing" and to terrorize the population.
There is nothing "lawful" about it.
whichever candidate runs on prosecuting every single ice agent fuck to the fullest extent of the law has my vote
Distraught woman says ICE killed her wife in video after deadly Minneapolis shooting "They killed my wife," the distraught woman says, adding, "They shot her in the head." An ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman who was driving an SUV in Minneapolis on Wednesday. / Screenshot/@Breaking911
"They killed my wife. I don't know what to do," the woman says through sobs in the footage, with a damaged SUV visible in the distance behind her. "We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head," the woman cries. "We have a six-year-old at school," she says, almost unable to breathe, as a chaotic scene in which federal officers prevented at least one doctor who was on the scene from assisting the shot victim unfolds. "We're new here," the distraught woman says in despair.
You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.
This could be you.
“disavowing” your vote does jack shit for the people who said it would harm them and are now screwed by the current thing they asked you not to do
Mass deportations don’t protect working people—they weaken labor standards, silence organizing and empower bad employers.
An attack on immigrant workers is an attack on ALL workers. @jimmy-iupat.bsky.social
Imagine a Good Friday Agreement announced but without any Irish representation
That’s what they’re calling Peace in the Middle East right now
Would you conclude that a GFA would last in such conditions?
No accountability = no end to the violence
It’s nowhere near over
