There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. Dobhar-chū.

Star Trek The Next Generation scene. Riker and Geordi, in uniforms red and gold, meet at a Enterprise corridor intersection. Riker is *very* tall. You don't always see it, but here facing and compared to Geordi, sheesh he's a tall drink of water. Anyways, his hair's a bit messy. Closed caption reads, "I'm having trouble waking up."

Two more wins today!

A federal judge in Washington blocked an effort by the Defense Secretary to punish Sen. Mark Kelly over a video reminding service members that they must refuse unlawful orders. The judge made clear that political retaliation has no place in how the military is governed.

The long road to recovery starts now.

The impact on our economy, our schools, and people’s lives won’t be reversed overnight. That work starts today.

I’ll have more at 9:45.

All streets surrounding & exits leading to the Whipple Federal Building have been closed. This will be the first night AFAIK that the Feds, with help from local PD and Sheriff, have eliminated all protesters from Whipple since early January. There's been nearly 24/7 presence until now.

Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota His exit comes as some other Republicans have started to distance themselves from the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the state.

Non violent protest works. The people of Minnesota are showing the way. Trump and his Gestapo wanted a war. Now Republicans are leaving their party.

“National Republicans have made it nearly impossible for a Republican to win a statewide election in Minnesota,” he said.

MINNEAPOLIS LABOR UNION DELEGATION AND LOCAL REGIONAL LABOR
BODIES ENDORSE JANUARY 23: DAY OF TRUTH AND FREEDOM
NO WORK, SCHOOL, OR SHOPPING
MINNEAPOLIS – The Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO along with
regional bodies throughout the state, including the Saint Paul Regional Labor
Federation, the West Area Labor Council, the North East Area Labor Council and the
East Central Labor Council, have joined in solidarity to endorse a powerful unified
statewide action on January 23: Day of Truth and Freedom. The Minnesota labor
movement is united against the violent ICE occupation of our beloved cities that has
directly impacted union members, our workplaces and our families.
Workers are essential for our communities to function. Since the ICE campaign of terror
began, both immigrant and non-immigrant workers have feared for their safety when
going to work, being at work, and coming home from work. Union members and our
families are being illegally detained at alarming rates, with workplaces and schools
facing increased challenges.
Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou, President of the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation,
AFL-CIO, shared why union federations are joining this call:
“Working people, our schools and our communities are under attack. Union members
are being detained commuting to and from work, tearing apart families. Parents are
being forced to stay home, students held out of school, fearing for their lives, all while
the employer class remains silent. Our labor federations are encouraging everyone to
participate on January 23rd. It’s time for every single Minnesotan who loves this state
and the notion of truth and freedom to raise their voices and deepen their solidarity for ● ICE must leave Minnesota now.
● The agent who killed Renee Good must be held legally accountable.
● No additional federal funding for ICE in the up…

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.

You know at this point, with MPD outnumbered by ICE, I'm starting to think bringing in the MN National Guard to protect citizens from the federal agents might not be such a bad thing. I'd rather have our well trained guard out protecting us than white supremacist no-training ICE starting trouble.

The ICE agent who murdered Renee Nicole Good and fled the scene has deleted all of his social media accounts. The Trump administration says he is currently at home on paid leave, enjoying time with his family. After this administration, we are going to need a Nuremberg Trials 2.0.

Met Council members oversee Twin Cities transit, but rarely ride it In the last year, just half of those appointed to the Metropolitan Council have taken advantage of the free Metro Transit rides that come with their job.

Fine, maybe suburban members of the Met Council don't need to ride transit all the time - but can't they just try it out? 8/17 never rode, 2 others rode only once - and only 2 are regular riders. How can they possibly lead a system they know so little about?
