Instead of saying ‘oh those people in the past were good’’ we’re sorta saying in this moment we need to be the founders of a new country.

I realized many of my students don’t know how to take notes so I started taking notes/sketchnotes during short videos and even during @lindarmonkjd.bsky.social fantastic presentation. I tell my students we get better by practicing, so I’ll keep practicing what I preach.

This Mexican American Teenager Spent Years in a Japanese Internment Camp—On Purpose | HISTORY Ralph Lazo wasn’t of Japanese descent, but he spent spent two years at Manzanar in solidarity with his friends.

Ralph Lazo was a Latine teen who volunteered to go to a Japanese concentration camp to be in solidarity with his friends. When he turned himself in to authorities, they thought he was Japanese. “Being brown has its advantages,” he would later tell the LA Times.
