Devoted to family, synagogue, and the Mets, not necessarily in that order.

Your chat with Gary Cohen was great, Laura. Thanks so much. I found myself smiling throughout most of it. #MetsSky

Reminder: the Mets traded Luisangel Acuna to the Chicago White Sox in the Luis Robert Jr. deal.

I’m sorry to hear that. I use Audacy on my iPhone with no problem. It’s typically about a half minute behind the actual live action.

I’m not an expert, so if you have more accurate information, I will defer to you. The best info I found is that the 3/26/26 #Mets opener will be telecast on both NBC and Peacock. As for radio, are you able to listen to WCBS 880 on Audacy online? Perhaps that’s limited to NYC metro area?

I had a similar reaction. I wonder if Kanehl was on the opening day roster. I’ll go with leadoff man Richie Ashburn.

Thank you for posting this. I still get chills up my spine when I hear that music as I approach Citi Field. At one point in my life, I had the good fortune of working with some great people in Knoxville, TN. Ann’s father was a close friend of Lindsey Nelson. Tony’s godfather was Tim McCarver.

Baseball cards always will hold transcendent place in game’s history It feels like the right time to tell this story, but then it is always good to tell a story about fathers, sons and baseball, isn’t it? This begins on Easter Sunday 2010, when Derek Hogue told his …

Before there was #MetsSky, NY POST columnist Mike Vaccaro wrote about buying his baseball cards at my dad’s candy store, Carl’s. nypost.com/2020/11/14/b...

If it’s any consolation, a few days before Jacob deGrom pitched a gem of a playoff game in LA, I crossed a street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and there was deGrom crossing in the other direction. Couldn’t believe my eyes! I just stared at him. He smiled and said β€œHi.” I may have said it back.

Thanks. That’s all from Will Sammon’s comprehensive article on the #Mets offseason moves. It’s a good read, but only available to THE ATHLETIC subscribers.

Those who know Seaver only by his statistics can see how deserving he is of all the accolades he has received. Those who lived through his time know that he demanded excellence and a winning attitude, not only of himself, but of his teammates. He was first to introduce those qualities to the #Mets.

The railings can be annoying depending upon your level of tolerance. They don’t block your view like poles in old ballparks did, but they are in your line of sight. For the horizontal railings on top, you may need to lean forward or back to get a full view of the batter.

The failure of the #Mets to prevent Tom Seaver from being drafted by the White Sox is some bad Mets history! I think baseball fans are often unduly critical of their teams’ front offices, and Mets fans are no exception. But there’s no denying that this was an enormous blunder.

Stearns is high on him. That could be an act, but I don’t think so.

There’s a great group of #Mets fans here who are kind and who support one another. So, if you’re looking for a shoulder to cry on or for fans to celebrate with, this is the place. However, most major disseminators of news and opinion do not post here often, if they post here at all.

Even the avid #Mets fans here cannot know what Carson Benge is capable of now and years from now. Mets fans were outraged when the Mets traded Jarred Kelenic. That trade turned out great so far. They were similarly outraged when the Mets traded Pete Crow-Armstrong, and that trade was a disaster.

The #Mets signed Mike Piazza despite having a capable catcher in Todd Hundley. Moving Hundley to LF was disastrous, and he was eventually traded. Piazza became one of the best Mets players ever. Bo Bichette may not be Piazza, but you grab a guy like Bichette if you can; worry about the fit later.
