Attempting to get Birmingham, UK Lucy Darling tickets has been the most stressful part of my week and I wasn't successful ๐ญ
However, very excited for @carisahendrix.bsky.social because goddam, those tickets sold out so quickly ๐

Amy Adams really is resplendent in Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day.
Watching Bridget Jones and god, Cleaver really is one of the best adaptions of Wickham.
I would love an illustrated book in the style of Brambly Hedge that is also queer.
Every time I watch the Barbie movie, I get such a strong urge to rewatch Jenny Nicholson's video about Forces of Destiny.
She does such a good breakdown of how little girls play with dolls, and there's so many echoes of that understanding in the Barbie movie.
Ventured into the loft in search of CDs and have returned victorious with all my emo teen albums and the boxset of Cabin Pressure
Starting my once a quarter relisten to Failure to Adapt strong with their Fifty Shades of Grey episode. Now to work backwards through everything else.
Note to self: next time you have a dream where you get to hang out with a podcaster you like but don't know irl & they won't let you get a word in edgeways?
You've fallen asleep listening to the podcast again & aren't deep enough asleep for it not to influence your dream. Wake up, it'll be easier.
Baby clothes are so fricking cute that they make me lose reason and then I have to remind myself I know no babies ๐
There's also my Brideshead retelling and gothic short stories clamouring for attention, but I only have so many hours in the day ๐ญ
Spent maybe thirty minutes with my best friend before we were reminiscing about Nightmare Before Kissmas and how good it was.
@sararaaschbooks.com is a third book planned? Pretty please?
๐ช We are announcing our programme, and ticket sales will go live on our website this Friday!

For generations, people have done fibre craft while telling stories, gossiping, and setting the world to rights.
Are we sure if I cross stitch during an all day meeting, that's unprofessional?
Ahh, I loved I Kissed a Girl! I think there's meant to be a second season at some point!
We've just started s2 of I Kissed a Boy, and "I'm looking for something casual. Like a husband" is going to live rent free in my head
Trying to finish my current rom com WIP, so I can either move on to my allotment rom com or Stepford Wives novella.
Two very different vibes. The pull in either direction depends on how much of the news I've seen on any given day.
Congratulations!!!
I was just reading the longlist announcement and went, wait, I know her!
Keeping all my fingers crossed for the shortlist.
My dog understands that sometimes when I chop vegetables, she gets the scraps, and comes running when she hears the knife on the chopping board.
Today she was very sad that I did not give her the scraps of lemon and ginger ๐
The sun is shining, I have a good book (Everything's Fine by Cecilia Rabess) and in the next room, my spouse and our friend are laughing over how many potatoes they're planting at the allotment.
What a lovely day.
Realised I need to make If It Was You a dual pov, and in order to do that, I need a whole new playlist.
Ivy's is all Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.
Tash's is pure emo from my teenagehood - Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte and My Chemical Romance
I'm reading Weather Girl by @rachelsolomon.bsky.social
There's a hundred pages left and I keep having to put it down after every chapter because EVERYTHING IS GOOD SO SOMETHING MUST BE ABOUT TO GO WRONG.
Really enjoyable book, 10/10, no notes.
Just watched Rye Lane and it was *so* good. Will be making many more people watch it, because it was everything I wanted from a romance film.
Stayed up to watch this deliberately and am so glad I did.
Didn't intend to stay up for an hour afterwards discussing fatphobia, fatness and anti fat bias with my spouse, but again, so glad I did.
As a teenager fed up of people saying I was going to marry my (male) best friend, I really hated When Harry Met Sally.
As an adult who married my (non binary) best friend, I really enjoyed it.
(Note: these are two different best friends)
Today I've been going round in circles trying to find the Eat, Pray, Love episode of Failure to Adapt. I was convinced it existed.
It does not. I'm thinking of the Coyote Ugly episode, because the author of Eat, Pray, Love also wrote the article Coyote Ugly is based on.
My spouse: *calls me in from the other room so they can angrily explain to me how the box for a board game doesn't make logical sense or enable you to pack it away nicely*
Me, with heart eyes: I would kill for you
As a treat this Christmas Eve, I've been slowly rewatching Saltburn and writing down all my frustrations in a notebook as suggestions for my Brideshead au story idea.
So glad I left this episode persuade me to finally watch Happiest Season.
Two hours of hand churning to make cream suddenly become butter was a wild use of my time, and though every time I'm like, why did I do this, I will do it again
The video in question is a lego reimagining of the Death Star Canteen by Suzy Izzard. Teenage me had inpeccable taste.
