I would like to believe that it’s for the kids but my own theory it is their unwillingness to actually be the main caregiver to their children. They hate having all the responsibility. Even if they haven’t stopped mourning a new wife is better than actually being a parent.
Widowers tend to move on faster so it is believable. The multitude of Reddit stories from teens and now adult children whose mothers died unexpectedly and their Dad’s getting married again in 3-6 months later is insane. No regards for their children’s mourning period. Bare stepmoms moving in like….
