i had hoped that people who primarily read somehow wouldn't be prone to this type of mindset because of reasons i can't quite put into words, but alas i am unfortunately proven wrong.
i'll never really understand people intentionally limiting their perspective like this by refusing to try out a variety of different works, it's the same thing with refusing to try movies or games that look old or listen to music in another language.

i think generally my biggest issue in trying to create growing up is that i didn't challenge myself enough. i gradually started to grow out of this when i started picking up instruments but then came the issue of just not practicing often enough. i'll work to resolve both at once if i can.
my biggest challenge as a writer is that one of these days i want to try doing a story that's all a dream and have it not be lame as hell. idk if i'll ever be able to but it's a goal.
