No spoilers but the end of that dinosaur show was pretty sad. :/
A partially-frozen Harlem Meer at sunset
Slightly surreal being on day 3 walking around in a t-shirt and we still havenβt had a complete thaw yet.
A beach blanket with a kindle displaying the cover of βThe Spell of the Sensuousβ by David Abram
Mandatory take a blanket and a book to the park after work weather.
βDr. Seuss had a bookcase with a false door hiding hundreds of unusual hats. He and his editor would each pick a hat and stare at each other until inspiration came.β
I know everyoneβs creative process is different but it turns out there is a best one.
Selfie in Central Parkβs Conservatory Garden
Itβs been difficult getting outside since I canβt easily get the brace through a coat sleeve, so CANNOT overstate how much Iβm enjoying todayβs warm walking weather.
Feel free to say hi on The Appsβ’οΈ btw.

Oh I get it and relate entirely.
A table foreground, two side-by-side bookcases background, all in a light wood finish.
So excited to finally have bookcases and a table, place suddenly feels 1000% more like home.
Ruptured a tendon in my thumb playing dodgeball.
Selfie with thumb in a splint.
Happy moved from a cast to a splint to all who celebrate.
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
Parks Dept. programming is something that makes life in NYC markedly better. Exciting to see this renewed focus on it, but ultimately it deserves more funding!

Selfie at the airport, hand bandaged, wearing a white shirt and glasses
Guess who has a hopefully successfully reattached extensor tendon and could NOT be more excited for this well-timed little friends trip?
Doughnut with a gorgeous scarlet glaze
Was a bit bummed my local doughnut place didnβt have pΔ czki for PΔ czki Day but this loganberry glaze was a *very* yummy stand-in.

Storm King Mountain and a frozen Hudson
Hudson River with chunks of floating ice
Bannerman castle ruins, ice, sun through clouds
This is nice, we should have the Hudson freeze every winter.
I donβt think Iβve ever experienced a bigger dopamine hit from the temperature barely hitting 45Β°. First nice day of spring energy even with snow on the ground.
Sending good vibes for a smooth recovery! β€οΈ
Yeah, I need to look around, Iβm sure thereβs conversation groups I could find. Thanks so much!
Spanish, so thankfully very easy to find media/people to talk to! I have a wedding coming up in Chile in about a year and I want to have fixed up my speaking skills, especially, by then.
I meant to recover fluency in a language at which you used to be better.
So many good tips, tysm!!!
Oh nice! Thatβs a great thought. Confidence is definitely a major part of it; my listening and reading skills are still pretty good but it comes out more in speaking. Iβm attending a wedding in Chile about a year from now and I really want to be super comfortable chatting in Spanish again by then.
Oh love the listening/writing/speaking combo!
Has anyone here gotten a language youβve kind of let lapse back to fluency? How did you do it?
