I've seen Google's AI mode just fall apart like this a bunch of times in the last couple of weeks. Sometimes it starts adding 2-3 commas all over the place. Has it always been like that? I just noticed it recently.
@alexjuel
SEO since 2005. Agency life for 18 years but I freelance now (hire me!) I'm a huge video game nerd (and geek culture in general), I love creating content (writing, videos, photography), and I may have bright shiny object syndrome with niche websites.

At least they're honest
I had no idea dial-up was still available! We didn't have a computer until we got a hand-me-down from a family member. I had tons of those AOL CDs saved up, waiting for the day I could use one. I still remember how exciting it was doing the trial. It also meant no more library to get online!
The poll on Bing Rewards today. I'm surprised at how high the number is for people who still have CD/DVD drives. I haven't actively used a computer with a CD/DVD drive in probably a decade (though I still have some of my really old computers that do).
I'm sitting in jury duty and they're going through the presentation and it said we are not allowed to post on social media, such as on "myspace..."
Two words I can never spell right: grafitti and buritto
I just realized, nobody talks about the Apple Vision Pro anymore. I wonder how sales are going.
This looks like a screengrab from a horror movie
I'm doing a content audit on one my own sites (a site that I've clearly neglected based on the date of the article in this image) and I saw this post where I mentioned my "girlfriend." We've been married for so long that it's just weird to see. It's a little hard to delete old posts like this!
For the last few days, I've been working on a written review of the 1986 NES classic, Metroid. I've put too much work into the article already but I just can't help myself! I'll do some photo editing tonight and hopefully I'm done. Then I might do a video review...
Huh... good point. I guess I'll be eating a sandwich and chips for breakfast around 1pm today.
Reddit is so old
I don't know if this is widespread or just in the bio-tech space (where I've spent a lot of my time in the last year), but Google seems to ignore canonicals a lot. I know canonicals are only a "hint" and not a directive, but Google seems to care very little about canonical tags in this space.
I used to play Duke Nukem 64 and I got so good my friends hated playing Deathmatch with me.
Setting up Recaptcha with Google sure is a pain since you have to connect it to a Google Cloud account. On the plus side, I also got a site set up to send GSC data to BigQuery, which I've been meaning to do.
My old boss used to say "we don't HAVE to work with our clients, we GET to." As an employee, it didn't resonate. But I think of it all the time as a dad. My daughter often asks me to scratch her back before bed. I don't always feel like it, but I'm grateful I get to. And I know I'll miss it one day.
Something I've wondered though is if Google is confusing this site for an eCommerce store. GSC says "Display your 31 products on the Shopping tab". Clearly GSC thinks I'm selling products, but I don't know if that's why I'm getting mixed up in this algo updates.
This site dropped a little more and then leveled out for the rest of Dec. It appears to be heading up again as of last week. I don't know what it is with Google and this site, lol. It's been all over the place for the last 2 years.
All of my other sites, and client sites, saw no changes though.
Found at Goodwill for $2! I can't wait to read it in a couple of years when I get through all of the other books I buy. I've seen the author on TedTalk and she was really good so I might move this up in my list.
I like to collect video games, but I wonder what's going to happen in 20 years with the games of today that require day-one patches to be playable (like Cyberpunk 2077). Will the patches still be available? It'll be annoying trying to connect to the internet, too. The Xbox 360 is already pretty bad.
I'm writing reviews of the anime, Solo Leveling. What an amazing series! It's about a guy who is given the ability to level up as he fights, like a video game. It's a lot of fun.
But I've typed too much tonight. When I'm constantly getting typos and hitting the delete key, I know it's time for bed.
Here's a free, Open-Source A/B testing tool from my friend Devon at ConversionTeam. For more than a decade, Devon ran the CRO tests for my SEO clients. He's a pro. I haven't tried this tool yet, but I bet it's amazing!

Ahrefs shows that a new keyword came up for one of my old game reviews from 2013. This site was destroyed in a hack years ago. I fixed the site but lost the images and didn't have backups. But I found the images on Archive.org!
Wow, I forgot how much I liked RE6

Lower legs of someone wearing black roller skates with orange laces and wheels.
My daughter is really into rollerskating, but I rarely skate anymore because I've become afraid of getting hurt. I think as I've become more of a spectator over the years, I've seen too many injuries and it's gotten to me. But I don't want to be afraid! So I went out there today and it felt great .
My wife got me this amazing book for Christmas! I saw it at Barnes & Noble a couple of months ago and thought it was such a cool idea and she remembered. I can't wait to work through it!
Haha seriously
Not everything can be insane... can it?
I have a feeling that AI is going to be the death of the Amazon Vine program. People in the Vine program are leaving reviews that are so unhelpful. Sure, they sound well-written, but they're practically fake. And they sound like marketing copy. Check this one out.
I've done a small amount of investigating but nothing is obvious. All of my pages are product reviews. One page was pushed down for a fresher page, one page was pushed down for product pages, two pages pushed down for forum posts, and Google even put a discontinued product page above one of my posts
Two books on a table - Leading with Cultural Intelligence by David A. Livermore and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time by Akira Himekawa
I'm excited to be starting these two books. One for learning and one for relaxing.
