Chelmsford Lib Dems 🔶

We would introduce new protections to ensure taxpayers’ money is spent on frontline services for children, not lining the pockets of offshore investors.

We cannot allow this rigged racket to drag on any longer. SEND children and parents deserve better.

SEND needs a radical shake-up.

We must cap private profits to end the race to the bottom, protect existing support, introduce universal screening for every child, and boost mainstream and specialist capacity so the system truly works for children and families.

People were rightly furious with the Conservative Party for plunging the NHS into this crisis. Now they are fed up with Labour for letting things get worse on their watch.

This year has shown the real impact of practical, values-led policy to deliver change across the country and in our communities.

Elections across Essex were already postponed earlier this year and now it’s being planned that the Essex Mayoral elections will also be postponed all the way until 2028.

This is a complete democratic stitch up by the government preventing people in Chelmsford from having their voice heard.

Chelmsford constituents with BN(O) visas are worried about the Govt's plan to raise the English language requirement retroactively and to increase the income requirement. I raised this in a Westminster Hall debate and urged the Government to reconsider. #BNOVisa

I welcome an independent inquiry following the mistaken release of a convicted sex offender from HMP Chelmsford last week. The Government must act fast, and any prison leaders at fault, including Governors, should resign. Systemic failure isn’t one officer’s fault.

Liberal Democrat MPs just defeated Nigel Farage’s Bill in Parliament to tear up people’s rights and withdraw from the ECHR.

Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into Trump's America. We won't let him.

The government must now deliver their promised “EU-reset” - starting with a new UK-EU Customs Union.

Essex County Council accused of wasting money over leaflet Essex County Council says it has spent nearly £37,000 sending the leaflet out to households.

This new leaflet from Conservative-run Essex CC disregards the opinions of Chelmsford residents, the cost of which could have been spent on local services. We believe it has broken the code of practice

As the EU’s new Entry/Exit Scheme finally rolls out, British businesses face further chaos — and it’s totally avoidable.

The Liberal Democrats are demanding urgent action to stop trade grinding to a halt.

Greater Anglia will be nationalised and run by the Department for Transport from 2am this Sunday. There will be no changes to any of the core aspects of train operations.

I recently wrote to the Transport Secretary seeking assurances that their excellent record will be maintained after Sunday.

After years of waiting, Beaulieu Park Station opens on 26 Oct 2025. I visited the site recently and the transformation is incredible. It looks fantastic. A big step forward for local travel. Can’t wait to hop on a train from there myself, and I know many of you feel the same. #BeaulieuParkStation
