Oh my fucking God. I switched to Linux about a month ago and today I had the horrifying realization that I had to print something. I was expecting an experience as (if not more) stressful as I did on Windows. No! Plugged it in and IT WORKED RIGHT AWAY! No drivers. No shitty software. It just worked!

This week, in the Week in Bullshit. LLM-apologist at my work tries to tell me and actual software dev how to do software dev. He thinks the concept of 'self documenting' code is stupid and having 1000 line functions with hundreds of comments in is OK.

I had a bit of a commission spree over the past month. Still got plenty in the works, but I realized that I had inadvertently capped this spree off with two pictures of Zenon being literally sent to horny jail. My brain was telling me something x3

I searched on my VPN VM (which I forgot to install the AI blocker addon), thinking it may have been some kind of region locking. The base results were the same, but the AI overview had the thing I was looking for. I can see search engines being phased out over the coming years :/ (2/2)

Tinfoil hat time! I think Google has recently and intentionally made their standard search engine worse so that people will move to Gemini. I tried searching for something, that I know I had searched for before (recently) and found easily, and nothing was coming up. (1/2)

I should say that I have had animations done before, but they were smaller scale and in Flash (which I already had experience with and knew the process of)

Having a new commission experience! Getting a hand-drawn animation done and I'm having to approve storyboards and animatics! I feel like how I did back in 2008 when I got my first image commission. The process is so exciting :P

I should expand on the 'taking longer' bit. An experienced programmer will take a problem and directly translate it into code. Using an LLM only adds another step to the process (translating the problem into a prompt) and you still have to check the result and iterate if it gets it wrong.

The paradox with LLMs for coding is if you use them 'correctly', then it would have been quicker to just do it yourself. The kind of person who claims to have had 90% of their code written by a bot are either not properly checking/testing it, or in denial about how much longer it takes.

Got a comic in the works that contains another legendary facial expression from Zenon x3. I may have to make it a sticker or the pixelated FA bio pic when it's done! Also FINALLY got Zenon hooking up with a certain hunk from a certain Final Fantasy game so Im excite :> (It's always the blue bois...)

I know it will do **** all good, but the gov have opened a public consultation on banning social media for under 16s. Whether you agree with that or not, the implementation needs to be such that we're not handing our IDs to random tech companies. Make sure they know that.
