Snowfall in the Cambrian Mountains.
Not like snow that falls on the sea, met with a saltwater kiss, an unwitnessed assimilation soon forgotten.
This snow will stay, harden beneath open skies in the cold caress of winterβs breast, covering the frozen scarting of hoofs and a river slowed by ice.
Yup in the middle of a gothic short story if I can get near my desk to finish it off then equally to re-engage with the novel. π€£

An angler out for the winter sea bass on the estuarine stretch of the Nevern. Fish of 12lb been caught! But I thought the summer was better? Rod long enough to keep you in the channel, stout enough to take a hit. A wee sand eel spinning on the end. More bliss than bass.

Looking at the cover blurb, I always smile at the tendency of Americanβs to qualify places with the country, just in case a resident of one of the 8 Edinburghβs (or 8 Aberdeens or surprisingly, 21 Glasgows) get confused.
