Did you watch The Hack? I can't believe papers have gotten away with destroying lives for so long. That's why I've signed the petition, set up by Hugh Grant and other phone hacking victims, to demand fair, independent regulation. Join me: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/a-...

Caroline Lucas criticises Labour's 1-in-1-out solution for small boat asylum seekers

She points out that before Brexit we could return asylum seekers to the EU, after Brexit we lost that agreement

She adds that we need a Europe wide solution, especially as the impact of climate change worsens

Why is Labour punishing disabled people but rewarding the wealthy?
Why is Labour punishing disabled people but rewarding the wealthy? YouTube video by Richard J Murphy

Labour is cutting disability benefits to balance Rachel Reeves’ budget, while handing billions in tax breaks to the rich. In this video I explain why this is morally bankrupt, and why Labour’s 70 MPs who backed down have failed the poorest.

Welfare bill climbdown will have ‘a cost’ at budget, says senior minister Pat McFadden says U-turn will change calculations, as IFS says tax rises in autumn look increasingly likely

Welfare bill climbdown will have ‘a cost’ at budget, says UK minister.

Another tactic for driving down people's aspirations.

UK can bail out banks, subsidise corporations, fund wars but somehow thecan't tackle poverty.

Last yr HMRC didn't collect £46.8bn of taxes; over £500bn since 2020.

This was from back in Dec 2023…

Just one of the endless stream of unspeakable crimes again humanity that we digest daily

But none of it was enough to galvanise our ‘leaders’ to act

…but chanting did.

Macron: US strikes on Iran aren’t legal European leaders are walking a tightrope between condemning Tehran’s nuclear program while calling for restraint.

“There is no legality in these strikes, even if France supports the objective of preventing Iran from getting the nuclear bomb,” he said during a press conference “

Macron is right. If we accept the premise that any country can simply bomb another country on a whim, regardless of international law, then the postwar order is over and we are all now subject to the terorrism of tyrants.

Keir Starmer backs US strike on Iran and calls for Tehran to return to talks Prime minister says there is ‘risk of escalation’ in region and beyond after US attacks on three nuclear sites

Liz Truss's disastrous mini budget is a drop in the ocean compared to what Starmer has unleashed by backing Trump over Iran.

The bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities is an unprovoked and reckless act of aggression.

Starmer’s support for it shows he is willing to let Trump dictate UK foreign policy regardless of the consequences.

In 2003, anti-war activists broke into RAF Fairford to stop US bombers heading to Iraq.

Keir Starmer defended their actions and said it was justified to prevent war crimes.

Now his government is banning Palestine Action for doing the same.

The Prime Minister is a hypocrite.

The Russia Report was released, but heavily redacted.

It won’t be released in unredacted form.

More importantly - it’s now obsolete & too narrow in scope for the current threat environment.

What we need now is a comprehensive review of all foreign interference in UK democracy.

Civil Service told by government to slash running costs by 15% The target is said to be administrative costs - but unions have challenged ministers to be upfront about what areas of work they are prepared to sacrifice as a result.

UK Civil Service told to slash running costs by 15%, £2bn.

What would that be - cuts in airport safety, minimum wage inspections, health and safety, child welfare, flood defences, river cleanliness, benefit assessment?

Policy on the hoof pays no attention to human cost.

If Hamas had killed 7 Israelis inside of Israel this week, it would be one of the biggest stories in the world, & all over the US media.

But Israel killed 7 HUNDRED Palestinians this week, including almost 200 children, & yet there's little outrage from our politicians or media.
