oh yeah so it turns out that I had a MyFitnessPal account that logged in with Facebook, and since Under Armour doesn't support Facebook auth, that account became inoperable post-acquisition (not even password reset worked)

anyway that's the account that got compromised

Finder icon by Squid4572. I really don't know how to describe this, apart from the smile being much wider and flatter than the original Finder icon, evoking an expression that's more like a fake, polite smile or something.

A photo of the Polite Cat meme, for comparison. I think the expression looks very similar but I don't know how to describe it for alt text, sorry.

this is to say that my perception of the "my hidden truth makes me better than you" anti-Semitism cloaked in Christianity has been relatively flat, while your current path to expert + wow, another war crime inherently increase your exposure to it. does that explain all the uptick? no idea

02.03.2026 04:25 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

but without sufficient passion, proselyting your alternative facts too much exposes you to cognitive dissonance and that discomfort makes you stop. as a result you only advertise it in context, like if someone brings something up or someone decides to commit another war crime again

and thus when you encounter an expert, you are required to tell them that you are right. this loop is self-reinforcing regardless of outcome, because anything they say that could be construed to align with your beliefs means you are cool and smart, and any disagreement is proof that you know better

02.03.2026 04:25 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

my wild guess is that conspiracy belief systems fundamentally require confidence that you know a hidden truth that most people do not, which makes you cooler and smarter and better looking than everyone else, especially so-called "experts"

if people are using classified information to place bets, then theoretically others can analyze betting behavior to find signals that reveal classified information.

Google Discover feed entry for an Entrepreneur article headlined "I Built a Business In My Garage, Got Rejected On Shark Tank — Then Sold It to Amazon for $1" (truncated). The thumbnail is a photo of Jamie Siminoff, founder of Ring, but that detail doesn't make it as funny.

i built an entire x86 CPU emulator in CSS (no javascript)

you can write programs in C, compile them to x86 machine code with GCC, and run them inside CSS

Hello, I am trying to sell my remaining Whey Protein (Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate) (24g protein/120 cals). There are about 10 scoops left I believe. Willing to sell for like $5.
