Yall I didnt expect to be yapping about eva on here in 2026 what a year 😭😭😭

And it is so sweet that adult Asuka just wished her younger self the best on choosing a different path - adult Asuka is perfectly happy and content with her own happy ending but she understood younger OG Asuka would like something else

This is Qdawg over analyzing mode but it is an example of letting your adult self heal your inner child self...after another 14 years and experiencing much more in life the movie adult Asuka understood what was important to her and what her younger self needed

What's even more touching is she realized SHE is the one going to give herself a happy end and doesnt have to rely on a second person, every ending that "requires" a second person simply felt wrong to her
And whats even more touching? IT WAS HER (SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT BUT) ADULT SELF GUIDING HER TO IT

The new movie did give her a happy? Ending, but like this short film pointed out she's not the same Asuka - our OG Asuka still deserve some love and her own happy end AND IM SO GLAD THEY DID IT HERE

I adore all of the pilot kids cuz I started watching eva around the same age as them (ok maybe not including Mari I just dont have the same connection with her lol) but Asuka was THE one with the most unresolved trauma esp in OG anime
