The artist spent so long, emphasizing the hair with repeated attention from different colour markers that the cardboard has broken up and pills underneath. Two flowers almost resemble flies landed on the arms in an attempt at levity?
This one returns to me over and over.

Specimen four deserves a category of its own. I cannot stop staring into its black pupils, floating, oily on top of highlighter irises, themselves, barely visible within jet black sclera. Jagged lines form boundaries to clothing, but resemble toothy mouths. (Continued..)

Specimen three utilizes mixed media but is also constructed carelessly, two points which are at odds with each other. Only markers were provided for this craft. Where did the artist obtain the extra materials? And if they cared so much, why is it barely being held together? An enigma.

Specimen number two takes a hard left turn into terrifying land. The wild colours and chaotic pattern on the body are an obvious attempt to disguise the demonic clown face. Unsettling.

Our first specimen is not terrible. There are some jaunty little attempts at snowflakes. The miniature handwriting almost seems to be whispering “let it snow, please”. None of this hides the fantastic, sassy eyebrows, clearly the highlight of the piece.
