So why not ask that 52% of "YES" voters to vote SNP in the Constituency vote (likely to result in an outright majority of MSPs just from those votes) . .
. . . and then to vote Green in the list vote.

Sorry, but you are peddling a naive fantasy.

SNP are never going to get 44% of the list vote in any Region.

And even if they did (pigs-flying!!) then the SNP on your model would scrape a bare majority with very few seats for the Greens to give useful impetus for independence.

Not enough young radicals (think John MacLean) in the party, too much momentum dissipated in the labyrinth of gender issues.
