Interesting. I hadn't thought of using this like that.
I'm not entirely comfortable with that, because 'user' is now ambiguous; it could refer to either the signal or the unwrapped value.

1. Missouri appears to be forging ahead with 3 bathroom bans in public buildings across the state.
They heard 3 bills in a single night on the topic.
Lawmakers are worried that we could see what happened to Kansas happen there too.
The latest from our writer S. Baum.
Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and itβs good sheβs gone.
But this doesnβt change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

It really is pathetic how the entire administration can't go a paragraph with insulting Biden.
Nothing but projection from incompetent fascists.
Paternal: Farmer, rancher, and irrigation system installer
Maternal: Rancher and union electrician (I think)
So, yeah, their grandson who sits in a home office looking at computer screens all day is much less rugged.
Think we need a few new PR options:
Approve, but I take no responsibility, because:
- I have no clue what this code does and I'm not sure you do either
- Clearly someone else is pressuring you to rush this out
- AI generated so much code that no human can reasonably review this
So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.
IMO the worst mistake people make trying to AI-proof their career is dropping everything to learn AI. It's like dropping out of math to study how to push calculator buttons really fast. The skill cap for AI is going to be your understanding of the underlying subject, not how good you are at prompts.
Alan Cumming explains why trans people are like superheroes
What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.
Insane.
The anti-trans movement wants an absolute right of parents to control their children, from the kids' religion to their gender. The state must obey the parents.
Except when the parents want to affirm their children as transgender. Then the state can do whatever the fuck it wants.
Press gave Biden far worse coverage for a small number of American soldiers dying while leaving a war than to Trump for a similar number dying while starting a war for no reason. It makes you think!
Screenshot of Mastodon user @scott@carfree.city writing: "As an ethical AI user, I begin each session by asking the chatbot to give a stolen data acknowledgement. It is an important first step toward justice."
That's the plan, and to the extent the Trump admin even wanted to help (they don't), they illegally dismantled the mechanisms for it, like USAID.
It would've served our strategic interests greatly for millions of Iranians to see boxes and crates of vital supplies with U.S. flags on them. Oh well.
I think if I'd gotten away with attempting a coup, suffered no consequences for it, then won an election four years later, got away with executing citizens in the streets and foreigners in boats, and successfully abducted a head of state, I too might think I could just bomb my way to regime change
2011:
In a long tweet about Anthropic, Pete Hegseth, through the offical "SecWar" Twitter account says "the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropicβs models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic."
Hegseth is wholeheartedly endorsing the core premise of fascism: industry, as part of the private sphere, must be subordinated to the military objectives of the state.
I'm so uncomfortable rooting for Anthropic.
Wait....
It's not real?

BREAKING: We're suing Kansas for a law that invalidates transgender people's updated driver's licenses and authorizes anyone to sue anyone they suspect of being trans for using the "wrong" bathroom.
A lawsuit has now been filed against the state by two trans men. (17/15)
CBS, Fox, the Washington Post, and Twitter are all owned by Trump-loving billionaires and soon CNN will be too. Here's why American media has a liberal bias problem.
imo the threat posed by CBS News and CNN getting absorbed by pro-regime billionaires isn't that they're going to produce right-wing slop that convinces people to be right-wing, it's the dismantling of newsrooms capable of doing investigative reporting on the administration. Fewer eyes on the street.
People are always like whatβs something you miss from the past and one of mine is antitrust laws
