NYC band Genre is Death playing at Rhizome DC on November 10, 2025, opening for SEXFACES. Tayler Lee and Ty Varesi play bass & guitar with one standing playing bass and the other writhing, thrashing and wailing on the guitar while supported by a drum machine. The songs are tight and the lyrics are great and they are just fun to watch!
Genre is Death playing at Rhizome in DC. The basist stands tall and still, while the electric guitarist moves closer to her wildly thrashing and moving and belting out a distinct, crisp thrashing electric guitar.
Had the pleasure of seeing them last November at my favorite venue here in DC, @rhizomedc.bsky.social, and they were amazing to watch and listen to!
Their economic acumen is such that they are making $0 on these Steve Albini sessions that they just released. If you want to know how In On the Killtaker would have sounded with Steve at the panel then you'll need to help transform disadvantaged peoples' lives

February 9, 1974: Iggy Pop & The Stooges played their last concert at the Michigan Palace in Detroit.
Pop taunted and insulted the audience throughout the entire show and was pelted with ice cubes, eggs, and beer bottles.
