Er, what I mean to say wrt budgets and associated ROI is that higher costs associated with developing games in high-defition - especially open-world ones - necessitated safer designs in an effort to ensure profits were still made. Realized my original comment was weirdly written.
Agreed - it's part of the reason (alongside budgets and associated ROI) that so many of the games of the late 90s and early 00s are endearingly unique, as well as so much indie stuff on itch.io. There's a tradeoff, as these can have more friction, but experimentation is necessary for great art.
Oh cool! Paging @tyrannosaurus-ritt.bsky.social
I've been catching up on your list videos and I love them! Thanks so much for the thoughtful discussions :)
I just made the best portabella and chicken sausage ravioli marinara of my life. I'd have taken a picture, but we ate it too fast.
Argh, I can't seem to view the images without logging into X and I don't have an account :( Hopefully they circulate elsewhere at some point, bc (while this is a bad method of producing physical media) I'm always intrigued by seeing a weird, off-model version of a game.
kill the imposter syndrome in you head because not only is there someone out there doing it worse than you, they're also using chat gpt to do it
Anyways.
Dang, I've never seen Legend. I'm a sucker for that dreamy '80s fantasy look, though, so I should probably correct that!
For me, it's probably Labyrinth, Ponyo, or Oh Brother Where Art Thou
I don't think I've ever been on a floor that tall!
Our Franchise Festival episode on the first act of Mass Effect 3's story is out now on our website and all major podcast apps! www.patreon.com/posts/151998...
Aw man, that sucks
Isn't that weird? I'm still bummed that the excellent Separate Ways campaign for RE4 Remake doesn't exist in a physical format!
This game is about to release into Early Access TODAY and I have a spare giveaway key. I'll post it into the replies for anyone to grab once this post reaches 500 reposts
This game continues to look great!!
It's those little details that elevate something from good to great, I think
Also, Grace is the best new series protagonist since... RE2? Angela Sant'Albano's voice performance rocks.
8th completed game of 2026 is Resident Evil: Requiem (2026). It's a great - if perhaps overstuffed - tribute to the best parts of the franchise. It has spooks, camp, action, surprisingly emotional beats, and even a couple laugh-out-loud moments. Can't wait to replay it!
The orphanage is a lot!
If you need any help on your journey with Resident Evil 9: Requiem, I got you covered! My full walkthrough @ign.com is out now. I hope it helps you find everything you're looking for!
I couldn't have done this without the incredible people I do freelance work with!

Oh snap, that rocks! I just rolled credits on my first run, now I'll be using your guide to get everything I missed!
I don't get transphobia. Like, just let people be who they are. It's that simple.
Very cool! I was pretty confident, given how well @capcomusa.com did with the launch disc build of RE8, but it's good to see it confirmed. I'm glad they take the time to produce such high-quality physical media.
*Combo of, haha
Doing well - woke up feeling energized (probably due to a combo or spring-ish weather in my region and the fun of RE9 this weekend) and Monday's looking very productive!
This is great news! I was into it from the first trailer - even as a guy who doesn't usually vibe with the town-builder/Minecraft sort of games - so it's rad they stuck the landing. I'll be buying it at launch!
this cures what ails me every time
I'm always a Squirtle guy in Gen 1 (though of course I love Charmander and Bulbasaur too)!
The new Resident Evil game is indeed very good, and is also very scary. We're definitely back in RE7 territory (during the Grace portions).
