In general, the boxes of “rare” stuff from storage I’m going through is just old. A few things are valuable. And then there is a first edition of the “Annual Register” from 1776 that just happens to have news of some little Declaration of Independence
The Anarchist Cookbook by William Powell, 1971, second printing. A large paperback book with a black cover, a white title and the author's name in red. Apparently, these days it's quite safe to allow readers to see it as most of the recipes for explosives etc are out of date. It does also have a list of drugs, which is how I know that if you eat enough banana skins, you'll hallucinate, but I'd think that was pretty likely anyway.

I met a childhood hero of mine today. Tim Jacobus is one of the major influences who inspired my love for making art. I remember being beyond wowed by the Goosebumps covers. I stared at the covers and tried to draw them, just as much as I spent time reading the books themselves. (If not more so)

ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. She’s married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
