that being said I like the idea of a more structured Character Creation with limited Hero Archetypes like Speedster, Esper, Brute, etc. as long as they allowed for significant character expression. I haven’t explored the genre so much, I’m sure theres a lot of cool options that fit these examples.
I think a large part of the issues in creating a Superhero TTRPG is character creation. Players want to play characters with unique powers, sometimes even powers that the Players come up with, but the nature of character creation and game-balance naturally limit these possibilities.

Humans subscribe to a "4 elements" theory of the world. The Underfolk (dwarves, halflings and such) think this paradigm is too simplistic; air cannot be used in crafts—to think of it as an element is ignorant. They have advanced it with the 6 element theory: water, fire, wood, stone, bronze, iron.

TRAP: In the *obviously* lightning themed dungeon, a ladder is embedded in the wall. It leads up to the next level. It is made of copper and bisected down the middle--the two halves do not touch. Anyone touching both halves completing the circuit and is shocked.
