Yesterday HB 2228 to legalize scissor stairs passed the Senate 48 - 0, now headed to the Gov's desk.
Thank you Rep. Zahn and Sen. Bateman, and also @markusja.bsky.social who got this conversation started!
Look, now that we're trying for real consequences for the Epstein files, maybe we should also take another look at the Panama Papers
"We're arguing that in order to have a well-functioning democracy the political system actually needs to solve problems. And it needs not only to solve them in an effective way, but also in a transparent and just way.β www.liberalcurrents.com/america-if-y...
Ken Sim wonβt be defeated by posts, polls, or prayers. Heβll be defeated in a vote.
That takes conviction in a single progressive candidate who can unify this city.

Opponents are quoting retired architects against the school. Well my neighbour/a retired architect was the Lead Consultant on the SEFC Plan and he says that there is "no credible reason" not to increase the size of the school.

A former OneBC staffer previously participated in a Spaces call with the leaders of white nationalist/"Canadian nationalist" organizations.
They talked about deporting 10 million people and joked about throwing "millions of Punjabis" into the sea. 1/3 thetyee.ca/News/2026/02...

I feel very strongly that now is the time for NIMBYβs to shine. Every regulatory and procedural lever should be tested. Slow them down.

San Diego and Los Angeles face all the same macro headwinds. But in the former, housing permitting is up 40%, while in the latter, it has plummeted. What's the difference? Policy and administration.

An Instagram post from the Assembly of First Nations reading: Important Travel Advisory The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) has heard reports that some First Nation citizens have been subjected to increased questioning and detainment by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The AFN strongly condemns these actions and reaffirms First Nationsβ inherent and Jay Treaty rights to cross-border mobility. The AFN advises any First Nations members traveling to the U.S. to carry valid identification, including a Status Card or a Canadian passport. Anyone requiring assistance with Status Card applications, renewals, replacements, or urgent processing related to travel may contact Indigenous Services Canadaβs Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS) Program at 1-800-567-9604 or visit www.canada.ca/indigenous-services-canada. Please note that federal law enforcement may not be familiar with Tribal IDs. If an ICE agent does not accept your Tribal ID as identification, the Native American Rights Fund recommends that you request to speak to their supervisor. In emergency cases, Canadian citizens in the U.S. can contact the Canadian Consulate for assistance through 1-613-996-8885.
Iβm not sure how much notice this has received but the Assembly of First Nations in Canada has issued a travel advisory for the United States after reports that Indigenous people are being increasingly questioned and detained by ICE. www.instagram.com/p/DT-_SacDEH...
