Yesterday we opened @citywestminster.bsky.social 's 5th Community Hub in Westbourne. 14 beautiful bookable community rooms, a baby room, a community cafe, counselling, a programme full of health and well being activities, advice services & activities for every age.

We’ve identified six key lessons about how to do innovation in the early years: Adopt a test and learn approach. Effective innovation needs dedicated capacity. Co-design with families and frontline staff. There’s no shortage of early years data – joining it up is the challenge. Use mission-driven innovation to drive collaboration. Scale starts with a solution that works in place.

Residents in Pimlico and the surrounding areas will be able to access council services face to face, and cultural and community activities when it opens next year.
This follows Pimlico Community Conversations where we spoke with 400 residents, community organisations and businesses about what they'd like to see in their area. They told us they'd like more access to community events and council support on their area, so that's what we're doing.
This building was built as part of the Lillington Gardens Estate in 1972, and we're bringing it back into public use.
