You excited for the new Tron movie?!?
You excited for the new Tron movie?!?
I don't think it strengthens the argument but thanks for sharing this, it's useful information
"he kinda brought it on himself" is in fact an extremely controversial thing to say
tbh the biggest threat to Steelers exceptionalism is probably the fact that the Rooneys are low on the net worth rankings
Like, did the Steelers get lucky with Noll to Cowher to Tomlin, or did they earn it by identifying talent and then providing the kind of stability they needed to get the most out of their careers?
We'll never know for sure. But they haven't won anything without Bradshaw and Ben regardless
I dunno. Hard to say. On the one hand there's an institutional patience that has paid off in Pittsburgh over the long haul, but on the other hand maybe the formula really is just "good coach + great QB + competent team building" like it is anywhere else and we're just a bit lucky.
Some say Boardman is the Wyomissing of Ohio

I don't know if this survey is using AI well, but the idea of nuancing surveys and letting AI use that to augment the results is a brilliant use case. I always hate taking surveys because I don't like the choices and this offers a way out of that problem.

Yeah, in addition to the overall range just being bigger. My taxi story was in the heart of downtown; I can get Ubers at my house outside of the *county* at a reasonable time now.
2. A good benchmark of tech is "does it humanize or dehumanize"; I've experienced both with LLMs
3. Resist anthropomorphizing LLMs and you'll do better with using them/thinking about them
4. Writers have the biggest incentives to oppose LLMs and obviously have an outsized impact on the Discourse
I've been away from X/bsky for a couple of months. Been working with Claude Code for the day job quite a bit. Some assorted AI-related thoughts that I've been accumulating:
1. With new tech, the existence of a bad thing it enables doesn't inherently mean the tech is bad
Calling a cab in Pittsburgh pre-Uber was a nightmare. Phone in to dispatch, wait for up to an hour.
If "just more available and easier to book" is the final outcome of the post-Uber world that's still a massive win
(I don't entirely disagree with you btw. I'm anti-slop but pro-AI tools. It's like we invented the hammer and just started whacking everything)
(There is, of course, rhetorical trickery happening from the first question to the second beyond the good faith/bad faith switch-up: one has the pastor is actively directing a process; the latter has the pastor abdicating his role entirely)
"Should pastors quote from old commentaries to support their sermons?"- sounds urbane, philosophical, important
"Should pastors let dead people teach their flock?"- far more accurate, makes you sound stupid for even asking the question
was hoping for "eat" to balance it out but oh well
My wife got six free tickets at the mile race/picklesburgh weekend and I have just never been less enthusiastic about attending a Pirates game for zero dollars
I kept trying to cancel after that one NFL playoff game like two playoffs ago and they kept making me stay for like $2 month until a month or two ago. Here's hoping the gravy train returns someday
Faramir actually played in a jizz band while a student at Gondor U
Which is why they are both inspired by the Spaceballs character "Yogurt"
Watched ABC = watched an ABC news program specifically? (national, or national + local affiliate?)
If so the 24-hour networks are way more likely to get eyeballs by default
I was kinda struck by how unpopular PBS is in general
Nah, just allow the defense to sub out once the offense puts their personnel on the field and do the same rollover rule for both sides.
@baptohammer.bsky.social I saw this in the other place and immediately wanted to tag you because I knew it'd get a hearty hay-men
After she wrote the Hunger Games, I would never bet against her

What's going on in Washington County, is that Southpointe still holding its own?
I worked there years ago but I don't have a bead on that area anymore
of course, I still have that browser tab open
