Who knew Margaret Atwood’s quote “a word after a word after a word is power” would essentially be refactored as the objective function for the world’s most powerful AIs.

The world of Shroud stands out for not only for it's internally consistent creativity, but also for not falling into any anthropomorphizing rabbit holes like so much science fiction does. The human corporatocracy thought experiment is just as unsettling and well thought-out.

👍 appreciate your perspective very much.
10% would be all, or mostly, visceral fat, which means it's basically as effective at GLP. I'm not saying it might not be a good drug, especially for maintenance, I just question the preclinical data and wonder about expectations.
Based on this preclinical data, one would think 10% possible, but I'm having trouble believing it. While I do think the MOA looks plausible, I struggle with how something acting peripherally and sparing muscle could achieve this level of weight loss.
Hi Dirk - I wondered if you have an opinion on WVE's obesity program? The concept seems plausible to me, but I would have expected small effect sizes, however the preclinical data shows large effects. Have you looked at it and do you have an opinion on POS and likely effect size?
I have been so excited since I found out this would be announced today! RIP any ability for me to concentrate: www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2...
