Olfactory and visual acuity differences between seabirds may make some families more susceptible to plastic ingestion than others, hypothesises @kamyabio.bsky.social. Shags were most likely to have ingested microplastics. #AOC2023

Last weekend, I saw a kiwi in the wild for the first time!! Crazy considering
1) I am a kiwi
2) I am an #ecologist
3) I STUDY BIRDS
I am truly grateful for how far kiwi conservation has come, but I'm wondering how many kiwis (people) go their whole lives without ever seeing a kiwi (bird).
