I definitely have been hammering out tasks this morning that AI could easily do, like synthesizing info into digestible bits. Still I think thereβs value in being able to do that stuff yourself.

I donβt really care if AI can write as well as me. I write because I like it; I create things because I enjoy the process and get a kick out of improving. That process sometimes involves heartache and frustration, and thatβs what drives me to continue
I repeated myself by accident oops. But anyway.
Maybe chronic stress is a factor too?
Like, itβs coming hard for millennials and we are a well educated bunch when it comes to diet. We know about fiberβ¦ sure we could all stand to eat more but. Idk!
I just feel like lack of fiber may not be the only cause of the rise in colorectal cancers. Genuinely, I think its carcinogens in our food. Eating more fiber canβt be the only answer here. I think itβs carcinogens in processed foods
Over the weekend I talked with an old barista comrade who confirmed this :/
Iβm craving a really beautiful shot of espresso of the kind I donβt think you can find in Chicago anymore
Literally typing with two fingers, doing the beavis and butthead laugh over their atrocities
not only are the 12 billionaires uniformly evil, they canβt type for shit
"actually his stuff was very Derivative and not Original" like, you don't have to do this. it is good for us all to sit with the cognitive dissonance that a very bad person can make very good art. it is good for us to work through the moral ramifications of that.
Additional point: thereβs a good chance ICE already IS in your city.
I could have been a character on the Pitt, is what Iβm saying
Many of the docs and nurses were fine btw. We also had a lot of janitorial and other types of non medical staff as customers. Widest and most variable customer base of anywhere Iβve ever worked.
I somehow forget this now but my first barista gig was in a hospital and that was a wild time, a mix of uptight doctors, evil nurses, and extremely traumatized patients and families.
Five jobs Iβve had:
Movie theater staff
Lobster shack waitress
Barista 3x
Agency copywriter/ghost writer
Comms for flute association
None of these are my current job but the last comes closest to where Iβve landed
Posting this here instead of getting into a fruitless comment war with an extremely disingenuous business owner
My take on the ~performative red hat~ saga happening on IG: I donβt care if youβre knitting as long as itβs not the end of your activism. But if youβre profiting off of it in any way without redistributing 100% of the profits back into the cause, youβre a grifter and should be called out.
I gotta say, I canβt count the number of times this has actually helped me to remember my meds. Social media can be community care if we want it!!
Interesting to see where the line gets drawn with regard to workplace evils the evilcorp employees will tolerate
Glad to hear there is outrage now, but curious what exactly palantir workers think their company does⦠?
Iβm wondering if itβs a niche millennial thing that overlaps with the brief heyday of the big box bookstore somehow
I share this experience and Iβm trying to get to the bottom of it. We had them lying around because, according to my mom, βYour dad liked buying them.β These are the only answers I have so far
Part of my username! That must be auspicious somehow
The piece below became this btw
Unreal to me that we also have one of these running around my neighborhood in Chicago. From the busted viaducts and alleyways of Bridgeport to the serene snowscapes of Yellowstone⦠this creature knows them all
A large CBP presence is back in Chicago this morning, with sightings and arrests reported across the southwest side and Cicero. Bovino is also here.
Iβm still in the middle of Beast in Me and canβt watch the rest of Pluribus atm because lack of Apple subscription. But if neither of these famed on screen lesbians gets a real sex scene Iβll scream.

Garbage plate mentioned!! I grew up in Rochester. Chicagoan now :) I love the veggie version you could get at DogTown, if that place is still there
