The Invisibility of Migrant Women in National Data
Migration is often described using broad, genderโneutral data, even though it is a gendered process. Looking at data collection across employment, health, and housing, this blog explains how migrant w...

Under strain: How NHS pressures are deepening health inequalities for women
Health inequalities in the UK are not only about income or geography. They are also shaped by gender - affecting different groups of women in distinct ways.
These gendered inequalities donโt exist in isolation. They intersect with inequalities related to class, race, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity, creating even greater barriers to access, treatment and outcomes for many groups of women.

Women often experience different health conditions, use services differently, and are more likely to work in health and social careโmeaning they feel the impact of system pressures first and hardest.

NHS pressures are widening health inequalities for women.
Women make up the majority of the NHS workforce and its patients, so underfunding and system strain have deeply gendered consequences.

Now is the time to reform the fiscal framework and invest in social infrastructure to build long-term resilience.
Underinvestment isnโt gender-neutral โ women pay through lost earnings, poorer health and unpaid labour.

Dr Daniella Jenkins responded to todayโs Spring Forecast
Thereโs a disconnect between slightly better economic indicators and how people actually feel about their living standards. Rising oil and gas prices risk pushing up inflation and everyday costs.

The current fiscal framework fuels a vicious cycle of short-term fixes, and trapped us in a permanent debate about how to plug a fiscal gap instead of how to meet the countryโs needs. It's time to re-think this approach.

Great to be part of this coalition calling to review the OBR's brief to unlock much-needed investment.
Under-investment in public services is not gender-neutral. Womenโs unpaid work compensates for the govtโs failure to invest in social infrastructure, and they pay with their own financial security

Weโve signed a joint statement from Project Resist and Flilia opposing the latest immigration proposals on settlement rights.
If enacted, it will have a terrifying impact on the poorest and most vulnerable migrants, particularly women.

Underinvestment in our social infrastructure, our health, care and education systems, is not gender-neutral - it entrenches inequality.
The current fiscal rules are holding Britain back and need to change.

Our social care system is in crisis โ and women are paying the highest price.
Rising care needs, chronic underfunding and a reliance on unpaid carers are pushing more people into poverty, ill health and economic inactivity.

Number of workers on zero-hours contracts hits record high
There has been a 181,000 increase in the number of zero-hours contracts since Labour was elected.
Measures to end exploitative zero-hours contracts cannot come soon enough. This shows once again that women, who make up more than half of those on zero-hours contracts, stand to benefit the most from the provisions to guaranteed hours under the Employment Rights Act. They must be delivered in full.

Worrying data from @workfoundation.bsky.social
Remote working plays a critical role in enabling Disabled people to be in work, progress their careers and importantly maintain their financial independence. This is particularly critical for women who are more likely to be disabled and to be carers.

Outdated, Underpaid and Unequal: Why and How the UKโs Parental Leave System Must Change
How to design better parental leave policies that support equal sharing of care and gender equality.
UK parental leave policy is built on an outdated model that assumes mothers care and fathers earn. It doesnโt encourage shared care, and it reinforces gender inequality. The Govt's parental leave review is an opportunity to reset the system and ensure it works for all parents. Read more here:
