A screenshot from Helldivers 2: an extraction shuttle returns from the surface of an orange desert world to the lone destroyer waiting in orbit, backlit by the fiery orange ring system of the planet. Behind the destroyer, mostly risen above the horizon, a moon-sized object looms, completely, featurelessly black, like a hole in space.
Presumably a glitch during an extraction in Helldivers 2 left me returning to my ship as an extremely ominous orb loomed over the horizon.

The billiard ball design is fun
The thing whose actual description is a Chinese Room, but without even the strict rules of If Input-Then Output, just combing through the piles and spitting out the average of what comes after the sequence of characters it got?
Pretty sure the null hypothesis there is "not conscious"
Look, something's gotta hold up the Firmament now that god is dead. Is that so hard to understand?
Worldbrace sounds cool as hell
I was in the menu of a game I was playing, checking out the stats on a gun when I noticed I could move the joystick to rotate the model.
As the muzzle turned towards me I reflexively, out loud, said "Listen to Blood Work" and then had to explain to my family on the Discord call
When I take time to do a lot of greebles it ends up taking *forever*
I spent so many hours looking at this view of the ISS main truss to get an idea of what kinds of shapes might be on the outside of a station.
I try to reassure myself "well, it was never meant to experience 1G anyway, so I'm true to the design in that respect"
(And I *really* want to avoid making cylinders by hand when possible)
As far as I know all of my builds *could* be made, provided Lego made pieces in the right colors. You'd just need to be *very* careful with how you displayed/moved some, as they'd fall apart if you tilted them the wrong way.
For better or worse I settled on a scale early on (1 plate thickness = ~0.762m) and have tried to stick with that for almost everything.
It would be neat to do Trophy-scale like @celeryensign.bsky.social does, but that would make a lot of pre-made cylinder pieces unavailable at larger scales.
I don't feel like any of my originals come close to things like the Glacier, Chicxulub, North Peary, Oxhead, Weaver, or Particle Beam Artillery Destroyer you've done, just to name a few
On the contrary, I think you're so much better at interesting shapes and details.
That's why so many of my builds are trying to adapt actual proposals or graphic art someone else has done, cause my own designs tend to be much more featureless.

What I think of every time I see the tanks on a Soviet N1
Love these details

Digital drawing depicting the view out of spaceship viewport. The lower part of the view is a planet with almost no visible land, just blue ocean and white clouds. In the centre there's Uranus-Neptune like ice giant with thin rings and a handful of small moons. The viewport is the only source of light, the walls around it are completely dark
Digital drawing of a character standing against handrail. The character is dressed in warm clothes and has a cat ear headband. They hold a cup of hot drink with a lot of vapour coming from it. In the background there's half-frozen body of water, small mountains and everything is covered in the snow. A small light moon is visible in the background. Near them there's guitar suitcase
3D low-poly sketch of a space tug with engine/reactor zone is the background, big radiator array looking like wings, followed by long fuel tanks with extra set of radiators, habitable zone looking like just a cylinder and then a large cargo ship-like cargo area.
A digital sketch of a solar eclipse. Lower half of the image is dark ocean and the upper is dark sky with 2 objects. The largest one of them is just above sea line and sun is just on its edge. The other much smaller object is on the side

Most my pieces are 2D but there is also some 3D. I try to go as hard on technical details as possible
I mainly post on Bsky but personal site with lore, fulls and unglazed pieces is coming soonβ’οΈ
Trying to do some (very amateur) estimates on how expensive it is to run various open-cycle fission rocket engines.
My sources or (more likely) my math may be very off, but here's what I have at the moment.
I adore Dyson Trees! Such an underused setting
Moar Spaceships. This is a solar-electric freighter that I did a few years ago. It's sort of based off a Boeing design.

Dear gods
A series about regular folks watching as horrifying inhuman titans lay waste to the world, powerless except to work together with other regular folks to make and maintain complex systems to fight back and try to clean up the damage? Seems pretty timely.
wait, do you mean that the missiles also have orion drives? That's absolutely bonkers (positive)
Pulse sails, yes!
