I run an afterschool club that is a catch-all for students who have niche interests: D&D, anime, comics, MTG, etc.
Today I introduced a few of of the boys to wargaming. My favorite part was seeing how quickly they became enamored with taking "realistic" action photos of their troops after each move.

I always find the conflation of this with "imitating a priest" funny, especially when similar flyers reference canon law. Like, are we *sure* hands held up to your neighbor is the same thing as pretending to be an ordained person and hearing confessions?
I teach Theology and History here. I make sure to cover Coughlin in both, emphasizing that we can like the building without the radio broadcasts that paid for it.
Independent religious, human rights & legal-aid organizations should have regular access to federal immigrant detention centers, including & especially those privately operated. Humane conditions & treatment need to be verified. Assertions that everything is fine are not enough.
Yesterday's homily was about Tom Monaghan, and how he rejected the temptations that were offered to Christ in the desert. Didn't see that one coming.
I finished up painting legendary Danish King Hrolf Kraki (front and center) and his 12 loyal berserkers this evening. Next I'll paint up some worthy shields after doing a bit of research on what 4th and 5th century Danes considered stylish.
Went to Texas Roadhouse with a friend's family yesterday. First time ever being at one. I feel like I've lived completely unaware of a national institution my whole life.

I hate that. I knew the writing was on the wall when I got one of those "10% off at our partner brands" with like 7 other stores on it. That was when they changed up their product quality, ignored their main market, and changed the logo.

Had a chance to work on some more miniatures, recently. These are from a set of "Early Anglo-Saxons. I was able to assemble two mythical warbands of that era/culture: Beowulf and his 14 men with spears, and King Hrolf Kraki and his 12 Champions, from Norse Sagas.
About 8 months in and Rescue Pup Abigail has decided toys aren't scary, and actually are Fun To Use™️
