As much as I am all for not having a car if I lived in an urban area, rural folks like us simply do not have this as an option.
For some of us who live in rural areas, fossil fuels are required for being able to get to the nearest large city for work. I am all for electric vehicles but the cost of them has to decrease for more availability to working class people.
Neoliberals have spent the better part of a century trying to turn a universal program into a means tested one. People need to stop buying into the lie that recipients are gaming the system, or that the rich are getting benefits they don't need.
Universal programs should remain universal.
