Allies and Morrison did this in 2009 with the old Arsenal stadium - Highbury Square
I realise there are more important things to worry about, but bloody hell.. that font.

Yes! At one time the largest construction site in Europe, no doubt lots of other big claims
Absolutely a need for someone to bring it all together, with the fascinating history of ships and trade etc
Hi William, I developed a walking tour of the Royal Docks so have done a bit of research on this. It’s all quite disparate, and focused on Canary Wharf, but there is quite a lot out there. This is good for post-LDDC - repeaterbooks.com/product/rege...
It is Dec 22 and I have been remiss in not yet posting any bizarre Victorian Christmas cards, so…
Here’s a reminder to make sure you remember to give the gift of a severed head with embedded cleaver this Yuletide.

100% agree, and you got the best seat!
It would need to be in Essex.. Open House Colchester?! 🏠 I joke, well sort of, there is no open house festival eastwards but there should be!!

Mmm.. I suspect the stuffy old stuff I’m into is less lucrative. It’s tricky!
Have you tried jstor.org? Free to use, with a limit of 100 articles or so per month I think.. some things are behind paywalls but most of what I look at isn’t (could be because it’s only me that cares about medieval Florence 😅)
Update: reader, I went to the house of an English wool merchant! And asked lots of questions
Trying to recreate these in a more informed/accurate way..
Love it. I feel as though creative gap filling might be in my wheelhouse 😅 Thanks for your help
Thanks so much to everyone who’s reposted, appreciate it! Trying to recreate these in a more accurate/informed way..
Love this. Thank you! Watch this space with bated breath..
Ah ok, thanks for the info. I’m looking into the tower houses of Florence, as they were before 1250. I have quite a few texts already but I’m desperately looking for first hand accounts of people seeing them and being astonished! There’s no drawn evidence (AFAIK), but my end goal is to draw it 🖊️
Thanks! Will take a look 📕
Mmm.. interesting, I thought there might be early pilgrim texts from the crusaders?
Crisp morning in London. Desperately hoping there are plans in the refurb for a shag pile carpet in ‘that’ purple for the revolving bar!

Ok this is niche but hear me out.. does anyone know of any 12/13th century pilgrim diaries, specifically of the via Francigena, and more specifically of the areas around Florence?
Or, alternatively, diaries of English wool merchants who might have visited Florence in the same time period?
No, not Billingsgate! 🐠
