Planet Joey comics 1-6, where Gaston and Mimi set out to sabotage the very comic strip in which they existed... Perhaps not the smartest move. 🤷♂️
Happy Friday!
Today we take you back to the first six Planet Joey comics — where the fourth wall was being shattered while Gaston and Mimi attempted to destroy the comic before it got started...

The ball-eating bush story arc wraps up on a bit of a cliffhanger...
Uncle.
Herb is a problem solver.
Joey too, actually.
Using simply "burp" as a punchline was satisfying.
Chainsaw Massacre.
Firing Squad.
To be continued tomorrow, but here's where we left off in the Ball-Eating Bush story arc:
I took last week off, but let's get you caught up to where we left off:
I loved this arena so damn much.
I created an obscure character for the Planet Joey universe: Théodore Thibodeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, who is meant to pop up randomly.
Some liken him to Commander McBragg (rightly) but he's actually modelled after former Canadian PM Jean Chrétien.
Read below:
Wide interior view of Maple Leaf Gardens during the final game. The ice rink fills the centre, with two hockey teams lined up across the ice near centre ice. The Toronto Maple Leafs logo is visible beneath them. A large, packed crowd surrounds the rink on all sides. Overhead lights shine down, creating bright beams across the arena. Canadian and American flags hang from the rafters. A large centre-hung scoreboard displays a close-up of a player’s face and the game clock. In the foreground, three silhouetted spectators lean on a railing, seen from behind, overlooking the ice.
On this day in 1999, the final NHL game was played at Maple Leaf Gardens. Anne Murray performed The Maple Leaf Forever. Red Horner, who played for the Leafs when the arena opened, dropped the opening puck. The Maple Leafs lost to the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2.
I have to admit, I've never been the biggest Garfield fan, but this sequence was great:
