Last Four Watched: Lost in America, The Third Man, Gaslight, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
I live for weeks like this.
And honestly, how was Joseph Cotten never even nominated for an Oscar?!

This script deserves credit for channeling an intrinsically funny concept in a way that similarly carries itself with wit, color, and infectious energy. There is something undeniably charming and appealing about both the characters and the broader written voice and spirit of the story, in a way that meets the moment at a time when a lighthearted comedy like this feels like a breath of fresh air.
Perhaps the most glowing praise sis & I have ever received for a script. Flying high on this one!

I know I'm really excited about a script sis & I are working on when I can imagine the fan vids & fanfics that will be created once it's out in the world
I just want an audience to fall in love with it the way I've fallen in love with stories so all I want to do is live & breathe them

Wunmi Mosaku is so exceptional in Sinners, I couldn't be happier for her winning Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs! Pay attention, Oscars!
Last Four Watched: Wuthering Heights (1939), Send Help, Suddenly Last Summer, Excess Baggage
I appreciate movies with their own unique personalities. Even when they're imperfect.
Also, those classic films are unmatched in their ability to linger on actors' faces and capture a range of emotion there.

I also watched Send Help & Wuthering Heights with Laurence & Merle. Must be something in the water π
One of my favourite movies ever. So damn good!
Delusions of grandeur are what keep my creative spirit alive. Imagining 'the moment', the 'what could be'.
I fully appreciate that down the line they may shatter on the ground of reality, but if it does break, at least I'll know it's because I built it.
Watched A New Leaf for the first time last night and Walter Mathau whispering 'good-bye' to his wealthy lifestyle is all I can hear in my head now.

And that's how you do a Halftime Show!
I love this insight. The concept is one I always try to remind myself of when I'm writing.
Last Four Watched: The Lady Vanishes, Prisoners, Wings of Desire & The Mastermind
A fantastic week of movies!
Still vibrating off of Wings of Desire, which is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.
The Lady Vanishes is one of my favourite Hitchcock films. The elements of a screwball comedy perfectly blend into the thriller.

Movie you've watched more than six time with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (either War or Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.
I come on to see that The Archers are trending and am now bitterly disappointed that it has nothing to do with Powell & Pressburger

This movie! Gah! Gets me every time I watch it with its stunning colours and glorious melodrama.

3:10 to Yuma definitely the stand out, but French Kiss also delightful. Honestly, Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline are perfection.

Last Four Watched: Way of the Gun, Ford v Ferrari, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas & The War of the Roses
Four new watches this week for once! Found something to admire in each of them.
War of the Roses was an especial surprise--curious to see what the new film will bring to the table because the dark comedy of the original is undeniable.
