Unprecedented levels of optimism from the TK Maxx buyer who thought they’d find a customer for this card in Germany. It’s me, I am she.

I did my daughter’s a few months back and challenged HM Passport on why they need the birth certificates of her German grandparents (whose birth certificates were issued by the DDR) to confirm her British citizenship and they said oh actually true we don’t need them. 🤷♀️
Oof it’s a tricky one. My daughter is only 6 months and so far we’ve managed to avoid most screens apart from FaceTime and the tv in the background sometimes. But raising a child with no family around to help us, I’m realistic that at some point it’s likely I’ll end up relying on Aunty YouTube.
I know, they were acting like I was trying to smuggle narcotics. Probably would have been easier than Aptamil.
Thank you, that’s kind. I’m fine now, just one of those situations where you wish people would have some heart rather than being complete jobsworths.
Oh and they’ve got rid of the security express lane for those travelling with babies (stupidly I didn’t book Runway this time) which just seems so un-family friendly.
We were accused of fraud for putting two boxes of baby formula (😱) in the ‘free’ hold pram bag. They made us take the formula out, still charged us €65 and said we “narrowly avoided them calling the Polizei.” Good grief, Christmas spirit is alive and kicking here.
I think I might start a support group for people who’ve been reduced to tears by the staff at BER airport. We’ve been here an hour and my count is already twice.
Also now available at Potsdamer Platz
I think Doctolib’s waiting list feature is the key to specialist appointments although it doesn’t always work out.
It’s one of those films I wish I could see for the first time again.
Genuinely don’t know how I can ever go back to UK healthcare after being here so long. Had a baby this year and the healthcare has been incredible throughout. The thought of being at the mercy of NHS maternity care scares me to be honest.
Apparently that’s me 💪🏼
Also I had to put some books I’d down while I lugged my baby + pram up these stairs and instead of offering to help me, a Dussmann employee helpfully cleared my books away. 🙄
Whoever at Dussmann decided that it was a good idea to put the International children’s books Abteilung up a flight of stairs has clearly never met someone who has kids ever.
I really need to pay more attention when I’m shopping in TK Maxx! Do all Americans start the week on a Sunday? It seems bizarre to me.
For the second year running i accidentally bought a ridiculous diary that starts on a Sunday so I’ve taken matters into my own hands this time.
Was told I shouldn’t be flying with my 3 month old by a member of staff at BER. Oh the ignorance of people who probably live very close to all their friends and family. 😡
They just love to reprimand don’t they. No doubt that is tenfold once you’re a parent 😬
Heaven forbid I forget the scarf! 😂
Oh yikes, that’s next
Defintely, the sock/slipper culture is hardcore here!
Argh how are we meant to keep gloves on them let alone socks 😬
I had a baby in Germany so my life is now 95% people telling me to put socks on her. 🙄
Me too. Maybe it’s a mistake as I only checked on Trainline.
Just looked up how to book to take my not even 3 month old from Berlin - London by train in a few months time, assuming she would be free. €91. 😒 Are they even trying?!
Have a look at MotelOne too, they’re nothing special but an ok price and well located to public transport and probably have a lot of accessible rooms.
Haha thanks, both are very exciting events I think ☺️
One great thing about being 39 weeks pregnant is that even the most German of German cafe owners don’t stop you going in just to use the toilet.
I don’t understand why H&M wouldn’t make these available in adult? Seems a no brainer to me.
