π¬πͺ #Georgia: As the Court of Appeals hears Mzia Amaglobeli's case today, we reiterate our call for her immediate release. The charges against Mzia are excessive and politically motivated, and her verdict must be overturned. #FreeMzia

Until now, release from prison, even on bail, was always a moment of joy. But Nino Datashviliβs was unbearably painful:
βI canβt even feel joyβ¦ I just want to sit. Donβt hug me.. Everything hurts. Iβm sorry, and thank you all.β She was tortured for four months. The state can never repay such damage.
That day was the 329th day of the continuous protest and the day after a newly tightened law restricting protests came into force.
"The way you treat us is the way youβll be treated. This is for Mzia [Amaglobeli]."

Georgian Dreamβs PR chief held a briefing over Mzia Amaghlobeliβs World Press Freedom Hero award. Still canβt understand why they picked a man whose name is known only to journalists. History has already been written β propaganda canβt rewrite it. Congrats to Mzia on this well-deserved award.
Thank you to The Council of Europeβs Safety of Journalists Platform for continuously monitoring and observing developments in Georgia.
Journalists in Georgia are under serious threat in every space. That is why constant observation and response are essential.

After 5 months, Iβm back on this platform. Covering the Georgian protests has been a tough journey for me and my colleagues. As Oct 4 local elections and a major anti-gov rally approach, Iβll post more often. Your support during this time means a lot.
