Followup to people noticing SubscribeStar adult billing info was gone from accounts a few days ago: I saw it on my account too, and I did nothing, and now the billing info is back, and I just got a receipt for a sub renewal. So that's seemingly one less thing to worry about, thankfully!

I imagine in the worst case you have to download all your statements and run the numbers yourself

Now that I've also finally gotten a Discord bridge up and running, I'm starting to give it and Element Desktop a go, and honestly, I'm torn. So much of it works so well, but also so much of it feels so unintuitive and broken. And every little bit of troubleshooting is a pain in the ass

Could be a faulty change rollout then; when big companies make code changes (which is practically constantly nowadays), they'll route a small % of traffic to the new code, often via some kind of account identifier. Then if error rates are high, they'll rollback, otherwise route more traffic to it

It's working fine for me, but I've experienced that before too -- I think it's likely a regional microservice outage that will resolve itself over time

I also wanted a cheap cloud VPS to (hopefully) hide my home IP w/ full control, which meant figuring out how nginx and both certbot and self-signed SSL certs work and figuring out how k3s and Traefik and ESS would handle the proxied traffic and TCP/UDP streams. Also proxmox. It's been a lot, lol.

Which, to be fair, I didn't expect it to be, but I didn't realize just *how complicated* it would end up being. For instance, I tried using an old PC, but the helm install failed w/o any useful logs. From an error code, turns out my CPU didn't support a necessary feature; completely unexpected

After many trials and tribulations, I finally have my own self-hosted homelab server and a working Matrix server! I'm hopeful it'll feel like a good Discord replacement, but wow was that setup not suitable for non-techies, lol.

I've put my phone on permanent do-not-disturb mode and am fully embracing becoming a person who just doesn't pick up their phone or immediately respond to texts. It has been wonderful.

Been trying it out, and I think I've got the espresso pull down, but I don't think I've figured out milk frothing yet (using a handheld foamer). Been practicing on 4 oz whole milk, so I guess I've been making cappuccinos? Not super sold so far, but it's been interesting for sure!

I've known of MTG since ~2010, and it's always struck me as a money sink, and I've never understood how people are so passionate about it. I stopped hanging out with locals partly b/c they constantly played Magic, and that was *after* they had a box of hundreds of dollars of cards porch pirated
