A collection of fountain pens in their case
Finally in one place! My “collection” is a mix of very expensive (to me) and very affordable (mostly jinhao’s) fountain pens. I love keeping the jinhaos in my bag and at work, since I wouldn’t feel so bad if I lost them, so they are the majority of this hoard lol finally got a case!
Saw this #fountainpen thread on Threads and my heart gushed and couldn’t stop 🥹🥹🥹 someone get this boy a Lamy STAT!
Endless Pens has the new 2025 color for the Opus 88 Demo fountain pen and I'm gonna experience a lot of fomo on this one, I'm afraid.

Bonus ASMR-type video of me writing with the fountain pen last night. The nib has a lovely feedback to it that’s very akin to that of my Sailor 1911S.
Apologies for the potato quality. Crap lighting, and attempting to hold the phone in my left hand while writing with the right. 🤷
I won't say I'm starting to geek out about fountain pens, but I did order ink in a different colour rather than be practical by using up the blue ink I currently have first. Cleaned the nib. Considering a second pen with a wide calligraphy nib to use as a highlighter with pale ink.

Love to see it! I am doing the same, except it’s more contemporary fiction rather than science fiction. It reminds me of the old days of not having a computer and it somehow feels…. “Better” isn’t the right word. “Clearer”? Like, I have more creative freedom, and the road is wider?
I am writing a science fiction mystery novel by hand.
When I complete a chapter I type it out. It is a great way to edit.
And! If I want to write somewhere other than my house, it is much easier to grab a notebook than it is to grab a laptop and hope an outlet is available at the coffee shop.

I’m a HUGE proponent of public transportation, walking, and accessibility. It ought to be a crime to make a city/country where people NEED a car to live. A car ought to be a nice little bonus, not a make-or-break decision.
It’s fun trying to find that line between “I need to remain vigilant of the horrors afoot” and also “oh no my heart is racing and my jaw is making weird creaky sounds and I can taste pennies.”
