I know? Every time i do an em dash i feel dirty. And also those sentences which express a negative and set up for a positive, e.g. "He wasn't just a community champion, he was a hero".

Colleagues are in their rat era: would you be interested in a PhD on the social sciences of the human-rodent-disease interface? www.inn.no/english/rese... @aivelo.bsky.social
it's so funny how academic fields start their papers in such distinct styles. my people are always dramatic w it 'in the sixth mass extinction/in the global sustainability crisis'. my anthropology colleagues always at the micro level of vignettes 'the snow crunched underneath my boots...'
this film kept giving me first-year-film-school-students-who'd-just-watched-Terrence-Malick vibes. and the cheesy dead wife flashbacks of rolling in sheets/meadow lol. Edgerton did great, but movie was crap

Soliciting reviewers lately is intense. I don't blame any of y'all for declining but this level of daily rejection gotta be doing something to my psyche
Getting Black Friday emails from businesses you donβt remember ever having subscribed to
POLLEN is two weeks AFTER Pathways so it would have to be the other way round. Load up on.. exciting population statistics and meaningful statements that 'wildlife mgmt is really more about people mgmt' and take to the social scientists? no? sigh
For us wildlife folk, June 2026 is stackedt with conferences: POLLEN, Pathways, World Biodiversity Forum, European Congress of Conservation Biology. Any missing? I am paralyzed by indecision.

Given the long history of species releases and the diverse range of actors involved in them it almost seems like a human impulse. a bit like feeding animals. but this article does a good job unpacking the political dimensions of it.
