Okay!! Art seems to be arting again for me!! Talked to some new artsy frems and got some really good advice, the main thing being posing refs!!! I am in love with this sketch! ><

That’s exactly what I was thinking! Like, you have worked so damn hard to get to whatever skill level you rest at now, who knows what your journey has looked like? Someone calling your work “talented” just invalids all of that because you were just “lucky” to draw that well.
Very random tangent, but I’d like to get some input on it.
Whenever talking about incredible artists and their works, I always avoid the use of “talented”, and prefer skilled or just other positives!
With art especially, so much work goes into becoming better, “talent” just feels insulting.
There is a follow up to this tutorial that is a full animation of it with special effects and custom lighting! I’ll hopefully be getting that done on Thursday!!
This is my first official model, while I’ve messed around with object slams… and subdividing until my PC crashes, I set aside time for a full session to follow a tutorial, and five hours later I go this beauty!! It was so much fun!!
I made the donut tutorials when I tried this last year, and I swear nothing made me hate Blender more, it would take me likes, days to get through one episode, meanwhile I was invested in the sword so much I did a 5 hour sitting in one go ><
Good? Yes. Helpful? Not really.
This was just done from a tutorial series I found on YT!! It is amazing in how it teaches you without you even realizing it, and you end up with an amazing result as well!! You can absolutely do it!! This is the second thing I ever made!

I know I will never draw just like them, they are still the ones who have inspired me to keep drawing in the first place, JP had even mentored me for a little while.
I don’t even know how to find my own style, let alone work out how to improve on it and incorporate other’s into it.
You work with 3D models, which is a whole skill that I am like, terrified to touch! I’ve had Blender sitting on my desktop for months and have yet to open it XD
My brain refuses to learn how to break those things down, and like 99% of the time I think it is the line work and switch my main brush, relearn how to use it, and then switch again!
I just need to keep drawing more stuff!
That background alone is better than most of my entire art collection XD
It really does flow in waves I’ve seen, and then there are insanely skilled artists like Accen and JPegrilo who just make non stop amazing pieces. They’ve absolutely put in the work to deserve it, I am still just a bit jealous
But what if I instantly fall in love with every other style I see and my brain wants to draw exactly like that for the rest of my life… for like five minutes until I see another artist with a new style and my brain just repeats that on loop all day?
My current skill level is being blessed with savant like drawing skills once a week for ten minutes… but I have no clue when and where it’ll happen? Like, I made a piece way back in July or August and I still refuse to believe I am the one who drew that ^^”
I mean, I fully agree with you there, but at the same time my brain is just like, “Why art not at professional level after five sketches?”
Y’know? I know exactly why I am where I am, I am just impatient X3
Plus wondering how to make art look like someone else’s style is its whole own thing.
How do y’all like, draw stuff well?? Like I am just seeing amazing post after amazing post, and then I try to do that, and my hands no longer understand the objective?
Where do I learn this superpower, what Tibetan Monks do I need to train with to make that kind of stuff more than one lucky time?!?
