Very glad that instead of panicking about the world, I am too busy panicking about upcoming larp writing deadlines. This body can hold a lot of panic, but apparently not *infinite* amounts, a surprise even to me.

nothing like trying to be creative on a deadline while the world spins more and more towards what feels like utter ruin. I write and try and build places for telling stories and I wonder if those places will even exist in two months let alone a year.
That ADHD Life:
What I should be doing: focusing on finishing up a major project at work that goes live in two weeks. Writing 11 more characters for the larp Descertation
What I am doing: watching old Eurovisions to find more songs for my character playlist for a larp in September (Daemon)...
Come join me and my buddies in a maybe metroidvaina inspired adventures! We would love to see you <3
Lets say I am helping set up a new discord server for a marginialized population. Population may be around 200 ish? Its there for announcements/mutual aid requests/general chat. What bots would you recommend for management if any?
Hopefully! We will see how many folks show :)
Just as an update: all folks who were laid off were just told that their roles are being abolished. Now folks don't even know if grants that were close to closing will be able to be processed. I am heartbroken and mad at the same time
The lack of trust in players to be able to keep ooc/ic separate and to need absolute rails is so true. I know some players prefer that style and I think it can be done with trust but so often is not.
My birthday larp party is coming up and I just got @warbirds.bsky.social lumberjills!! I can't wait to share one of my favorite short larps with others!!
Mo also sent a wonderful note. I am so lucky to call her a friend.
There is so much going on but this is personal:
IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) staff have been laid off despite having a congressional budget approval.

Thanks to @lifeinneon.bsky.social for introducing me to my current favorite tv show <3
In absolutly not important news, I am apparently now in my popular guilty pleasure fantasy period. Trying out Fourth Wing (thanks to my sister) and living for the Wheel of Time show. Especially my problematic favs Lanfear and Liandrin. (Me about Lanfear: But I can fix her!)
Thank you! I am glad I sound okay because I have not been able to listen to it myself, just read the transcript
@diceexploder.com interviewed me about embodiment in larp and what that style of play can bring to tabletop. Would love to have you take a listen and engage in any conversation! (oh and check out the rest of dice exploder, it is one of my favorite podcasts!) www.diceexploder.com/blog/2025/2/...
To break up your doomscrolling:
Thank you @megueyb.bsky.social and Vincent Baker for creating a game that is apparently laser targeted to my interests (romance? Aurthuriana? Shakespearean Fairies? yesyesyes). Can't wait to play this!

Everyone's a revolutionary until it's time to do revolution shit (meetings, logistics, laundry and dishes, actual work).
"It is impossible to be a top-line manager and administrator and mentor and researcher and writer and outreach officer and IT expert and online instructor and pedagogical innovator and recruiter and teacher and marker and external examiner and press pundit and grant bidder and editor."
Every safety regulation was written in blood, frequently with a body count higher than one, and itβs not political to put the blame on people who want to βmove fast and break thingsβ when they start breaking human lives.
Nothing like trying to push through writing for a larp playtest during the first two weeks of an administration that is constantly threatening my loved ones jobs and safety.
Whoops on that timing there....

The world is absolutely falling apart around our ears.
May I offer you a very beautiful music video in these times that also captures I think a feeling many of us have (beauty lost, a desire to break our chains and finally be free?) (L'Envol by Alcest)

I am working at least in libraries but I feel that hard
So Trump's shutting down of the entire government's funding system for American projects is literally so he can go line by line and target transgender people and other minorities.
When we said transphobia affects cis people too, well... here you go.
Just read about it and yeah...I was thinking about applying for a job during my lay off period with an NIH library. But decided not to because I thought "too risky come January". Hate so much I was right
Sometimes the world is awful but then you walk in the first snow in four years and listen to frostbitten black metal and everything for a few moments is okay.
imagine being afraid of trans people haha like just go on with your life dog what are they gonna do make you play warhammer with them
If you've, at any point, said you support trans people and our right to exist, great, now is when you put your money where your damn mouth it.
Support our fundraisers. Give us jobs. Hire trans writers. Trans artists. Defend us when we're attacked. It's not hypothetical anymore, don't be a coward.
Oh trust me that will happen (it's mostly I am concerned about the cognitive load on players absorbing those sheets for only three hours of play)
Not a bad idea! There are clear sections, and I know I general where I want to focus and where I do not as much. I think I just get carried away when I write romance relationships
