We've released some preliminary research today demonstrating fine tuning attacks which can bypass the safety mechanism of DeepSeek-R1. These simple attacks show that DeepSeek's safety can be easily removed to provide harmful content, and potentially to a worse extent to non-reasoning LLMs.
First day of the first full week of three of teaching ICS security!
12 Allen Bradley teaching boxes delivered today ready for the first week of our cyber MSc ICS security unit next week. With the 6 we already have and 4 more being built we will have 22 Allen Bradley boxes to go with our 25 Siemens boxes, and will soon expand to 20 IoT/IIoT boards to go with them!

I can just about do 20-30 mins of low resistance on the bike now though which is something!
I had a plan after seeing the Bristol half marathon and 10k in may this year to train up and take part in 2025 for charity, as the cardio had been going well in the gym. Dislocated my knee a month later and the other has been damaged by compensating. My running career was over before it started 🤣
I can't see my past tweets properly until the hopefully unsuspend my account, but for me it was the posts around the cow collar work and the pun storm from the vx-underground and anonymous posts tagging me.
Yeah I only watched it recently. I thought it was a new show then discovered it had been going 2 years with 4 seasons! Apple are awful at advertising their shows. Especially of that quality!

Today is water plant cleaning day! It was due a full water change and clean of the tanks. I love doing OT security research but this is definitely the less glamorous side 😅

Yes this is a pain - even the external magic keyboard seems to just hold onto finger marks. The macbook screens also seem to just absorb fingerprints into the glass!
Bristol is just very wet 😢
