Seven Billion Reasons for Facebook to Abandon its Face Recognition Plans Meta’s analysis that it can avoid scrutiny by releasing a privacy invasive product during a time of political crisis is craven and morally bankrupt. It is also dead wrong.

Meta thinks now is a great time to launch facial recognition surveillance tech in their creepy glasses because EFF will be too distracted by fascism to notice.

We noticed.

Honored to have a small part (as proofreader) in helping a wonderful, unique lit magazine find its way to print. Kudos and thanks to publisher/editor in chief Joshua Wilson on the new edition of @fabulistmag.bsky.social, which is fabulous. Print is NOT dead.

I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

There is no way in hell the United States under the Trump regime can host the World Cup in a few months.

They are murdering citizens in broad daylight, threatening war against NATO, and lawlessly kidnapping children and foreign heads of state.

The world has to organize a boycott. It’s not safe.

Promo card for the event with a matcha next to it and a little corner of a book you can’t see the title of (but it’s A Chorus Divergent). The card has the readers’ headshots on it & it’s important to note that Sam’s includes a dinosaur. Also this isn’t indicated by anything in the photo, but the matcha latte was made by M. M. Olivas. Yes, that M. M. Olivas. It also want my matcha, she insisted on making another one for this because mine wasn’t pretty enough, so this one went to a different customer who was very good humored about the whole thing.

2020 Academy of American Poets Prize On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs by RenΓ©e Nicole Macklin

I need everyone to memorize this poem by the US citizen shot by ICE and then try and tell me poetry doesn’t matter.

life is merely

to ovum and sperm

and where those two meet

and how often and how well

and what dies there.
