It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’m really excited to see it in person (planned a trip to Paris in May to do so :)

Six children creating Spirograph designs on a large sheet of paper.
Three children playing with wooden Einstein Hat tiles.
Had our Grade 5/6 lunch club fair this morning. Some clubs drew crowds with food. The Math Art table drew crowds with play : ) #MathArt
Launch day 🚀
We’ve just released @chartlecc.bsky.social - a daily chart game!
Your job is to guess which country is represented by the red line in today's chart. You get 5 tries, no other clues!
Play today, come back tomorrow for a different chart with new data and share with your chart friends 📈
Curious minds want to know - what's the long story behind the grey dart? Also, I spy a stray grey dart in your photo : )
Welcome back :)
Congratulations! Welcome to the international circuit!
I didn’t realize you were in London! That’s my stomping ground :) Hope you had fun and glad (hope) you missed the bulk of the heatwave!

Two pairs of female tennis players in the middle of a game.
Got to see both the women's doubles finals on Sunday and the men's doubles quarter finals on Friday at the Queen's (HSBC) Championships in London last week. #MathPhoto2025 #even
I just realized I have the wrong hashtag for this. I meant to say #MathPhoto25.
Gah...I keep getting the hashtags incorrect for this. I really meant to say #MathPhoto25.

Congratulations! I hope your retirement brings you just as much, if not more, joy!
WeltenLinie (2017) at the Venice Biennale. A brown rock is reflected in a mirror, but only halfway. The other half of the reflection is actually a white rock (since the mirror reflecting the brown rock stops halfway).
WeltenLinie (2017) at the Venice Biennale. A cream-colored rock looks like it's being reflected in a mirror, but the reflection is half green and half silver.
WeltenLinie (2017) at the Hayward Gallery. Visitors taking photographs of various rock and wood formations that appear to be reflected in several mirrors, but not all the reflections are true.
WeltenLinie (2017) at the Hayward Gallery. A gold-painted piece of wood is half-reflected in a mirror. The other half is a white piece of wood.
Alicja Kwade's WeltenLinie (2017) at the Venice Biennale and the Hayward Gallery in London. It brings to mind #symmetry, but isn't quite symmetrical at all. #MathArt25

I've sent my email address via DM. Always happy to talk Desmos! : )
Depending on what you're hoping to do, I'm happy to help talk through some ideas? (I'm at a school in London and am a Desmos Fellow, as is another colleague at my school).
Dishonest charts are coming from all directions, and they're only going to hit harder. Unless we push back. So, an interactive guide: Defense Against Dishonest Charts flowingdata.com/projects/dis...
Several green paper stars (and a few other non-stars but similar polygons) on a table. They all have crease lines from where they were folded before they were cut.
Hands of three students folding or unfolding pieces of green paper. Lots of other pieces of paper on the table (some with recognizable shapes like squares, others folded or crushed up), along with lunch trays and pairs of scissors.
The fifth year of our MS Math Art Lunch Club is off to a gentle start. Fewer kids than previous years, but still the same amount of joy. Today was the first time in all these years that we explored the Fold and Cut Theorem. Lots of exploration, trial and error, and imagination! #MathArt
Pretty amazing #dataviz of super-wealth. mkorostoff.github.io/1-pixel-weal... So hard to get the scale. #socialjusticemath
Shared this video with my kiddos today and they loved it! I also learned that the un-cancelled cancelled Leap Day happened in 2000. I had no idea back then. thekidshouldseethis.com/post/how-doe...
Would love any ideas you might have as I start to plan this!
I've found commercial versions online, but want to try to cut our own set instead of buying one. Will probably not get around to experimenting until late March as our maker space is packed with robotics team work at the moment.
No as I just thought of it this week! The eighth graders are my first batch of Math Art kiddos (the founding group) and we used to try to do something outdoors at least once each semester and thought it'd be lovely for them to wrap up their time with this as it's a favorite activity.
A student drawing on a sheet full of spirograph patterns.
A scanned page of orange spirograph patterns labelled with the size of the gear and number (counting holes from the middle of the gear)
A page with blue spirograph patterns including a spirograph monster.
The Math Art Lunch Club kiddos had so much fun with the small spirograph sets I cut from scrap acrylic...they even started making little spirograph monsters! It was 30 mins of play and joy. What's not to love? I dream of cutting a large spirograph that will work with chalk outdoors.
A shelf of eggs in plastic containers (with 6 brightly colored eggs arranged in a circular formation in each container).
One container of 6 brightly colored eggs in a circular formation and one container of 4 eggs in a square formation.
Shelf with cardboard containers of 4 or 6 eggs.
So, apparently in Switzerland, you can regularly buy eggs in boxes of 4, 6, 10 or 15, and also, there are brightly colored eggs year round! #unitchat #eggchat @triangleman.bsky.social
