Same, I’ve never had an issue refusing the photo & I’m even in a mask. They have to scan the ID, that’s always been a thing. There’s no way a tiny scanned drivers license photo provides the same amount of biometric data as a fresh photo.

Us white folks love to hate, including ourselves, so I can relate. I didn’t grow up in Appalachia but I have had the same convo with family members who still refuse to change their language. Thanks for being willing to engage! Anytime someone does, it gives me hope for the future!

It’s not new, it’s just not widely known outside of Black communities. Those cheap seats existed in the first place bc of Jim Crow. Whites found Black people too rowdy at the theater, where peanuts were a cheap snack originally brought to the US by enslaved ppl, thus it became a derogatory term.

At this point, I think it’s safe to say that every single person in the Twin Cities, MN knows someone who has encountered ICE, or directly experienced a situation themselves. They really are just everywhere.

Needless to say I’ve spent hours on the phone with both banks and Venmo trying to sort it. Kicking myself for not switching to a credit union for better, faster customer service. (Not to mention BDS, that should’ve been reason enough to divest.)

Dealing with fraud on two different accounts. They appear to be unrelated, but should I be concerned? Seems weird to have two happening at once. One is check fraud and the other is $$$$ in fake Venmo charges.
