Notre ami Alexandre Fontaine Rousseau (qui a réalisé les premiers livres Pow Pow) est en train de traduire ceci en ce moment même.
Hobtown Mystery Stories 3: The Secret Of The Saucer by Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes, reviewed by Brian Nicholson www.tcj.com/reviews/hobt...
"What if Memento was an episode of Twin Peaks?" What if I wrote about the new @hobtown.bsky.social for @comicsjournal.bsky.social? What might that be like?
This book was such a strange, delicate experiment, and we've asked a lot of our audience. Touched that so many have not only understood, but loved it.
Also has meant a great deal that we've had such thoughtful, generous readers, and reviewers such as Brian.
What a great review!
Check out this sick cover (Artist unknown, poss Bob Larkin, interior is Jeff Jones)
Argentinian pulp covers, circa maybe the 1960s. I love how incredibly lurid and dark they are.

@hobtown.bsky.social Hey, just recently got into Hobtown and now I'm obsessed. Killer work
Author of THE MARIGOLD and coauthor of THE HANDYMAN METHOD Andrew F. Sullivan's EARTH FILLED WITH BLOOD, pitched as Nosferatu meets Succession and drawing on Irish folklore, about territorial, supernatural beings desperate to thrive in the modern world and the ramshackle attempt to halt their domination, to Ed Schlesinger at Gallery, by Ron Eckel at CookeMcDermid (world English)
we out here.
Book THE SECRET OF THE SAUCER by Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes, with an illustration of a teenage girl with orange hair standing in a field holding a ski mask and a large projectile with a military gun in the background, Blu-Ray of RED ROOMS, with a photo of a woman's face in saturated red light with one half of it flipped upside down, Blu-Ray of ANIMATION NIGHT IN CANADA VOL. 1 with a painting of an ultra-close-up face with the title written on the dark glasses they are wearing.
Just got ahold of a couple of parcels a friend ended up keeping for me for a couple of months, and within, a shiny stack of CanCon.
Right now my province's private equity paradise papers premiere is gutting arts funding while handing out treats to the private sector, and my nation's banking and hedge fund Prime Minister is applauding the invasion of Iran while doing the same for oil, AI, and weapons. Plunder at every level.
I believe these people--the bosses and the warmongers and fascists--have learned that they can get away with it. Maybe they are like us, and cannot believe that we are letting them get away with it, but they know that they are. They're making off with their spoils and edging ever closer to insanity.
Days like this I look at my children and think about how fragile and precious they are. It would be absurd to think the children of the world are any less precious but that's exactly what these people ask us to believe. That their bodies are where they belong when they are buried underneath rubble.
NYT: Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada and his foreign minister, Anita Anand, backed the American action. “Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security,” they said in a joint statement.
so much for that davos speech
@hobtown.bsky.social So i just lost about 3 hours (and my sleep schedule) somehow with Secret of the Saucer/ The Saucer Secret, but my biggest question remains: “What is a Beef Whip?!” Hope to see how this all might fall out in a volume 4.

Kris Bertin and Alexander Forbes's "The Case of the Missing Men" is the first Hobtown Mystery Story. It's a graphic novel about teen detectives solving a case that quickly becomes much weirder and darker than they could've guessed. New kid Sam says his dad is missing ... and he's not the only one.
a happy birthday to Doug Moench, a Real One
Dude, you guys are killing it! It's so different from everything else. I've got the 3rd book and I can't wait for more. Thanks for giving me a product I can proudly say is Canadian AF.
I'd buy my third-ever Marvel comic (as an adult) if they just got Fantagraphics to pull together a "Mike Mignola Draws the Marvel Universe" book comprising, like, that Wolverine book, that Dr Doom/Strange book, the one issue of X-force, Rocket Raccoon, and various covers (what else am I missing?).
We all need a bigger cheque, buddy. We all do.
Methinks someone's getting ready to showcase a Snorlax neckpiece
