I want to be able to write that into an alternative dispute resolution provision in a contract.
Assistant *to* the Vice Provost
Hasn’t given up on the cocaine/toilet seat thing
Pretty sure it was Col. Jessup, right?
Pretty sure we don’t have the industrial capacity to start making trebuchets. Or ammunition for them…
Do not kink-shame the whale
Along with all the other bad ideas, the assertion that “the Middle East’s authentic structure” is “a mosaic of tribes, clans and local emirates” erases a truly astonishing number of successful multi-ethnic empires
I think that means that Oliver North was trading with the enemy…
And have professional degrees that that demonstrate their competence at their practice? How elitist!
Particularly for a *tennis serve*
And it was something the Birchers said unironically. GHWB was *making fun of them* by doing it
Stealing @gregdoucette.bsky.social’s bit: Cops are great.
It remains shocking to me how many people still try to use it as a glorified typewriter
They’re typing the section header entries and using single cross-reference fields for the page numbers. Which is precisely the dumbest possible way to set up a ToC in Word. They’d do better just typing the page numbers - being off by a page would have to be less shameful than this.

“Might not be accurate” doing a lot of work there
There’s also some of Scalia’s idea that the State isn’t required to be neutral between religion and non-religion…
That’s the through line between today’s emergency decision and Skrmetti, too. Parents exercising dominion over their children must be protected from State interference. Parents allowing pronouns or transitions are *misusing* their authority and can be prohibited.
This makes a ton of sense—and is consistent with the “Constitution in Exile” guys who thought substantive due process should be returned to the Lochner-era emphasis on freedom of contract. (There’s a lot of property-rights thought in that too.)
Because this Court has always been “Oops! All Vibes!” in preference to rigorous analysis, I assume they’re vibing the idea that the only SDP rights are those that would have been recognized at the Founding (with grudging hand-waving at 1869)
GB quarterbacks leaving the team, demonstrating themselves to be Not Worthy
It’s not like *Venezuela* was some model for strategic planning - it was pretty much “execute the bag, and hope the rest works out.”
