A7) I think I need to re-focus myself on my own time-management and planning systems. I can only control me, so I should do my best to do that π #learnchat
Q7: Reflecting on today's discussion about learning goals and expectations, what is one key takeaway or insight that you plan to apply in your work this year? #LearnChat
A6) gonna echo lots of others - time and other priorities. it's always about what you/your org chooses to focus on - and sometimes that's out of your immediate control #learnchat
Q6: Looking ahead, what challenges might hinder achieving your learning expectations, and how can they be addressed? #LearnChat
A5.1) 2) infrastructure to allow that personalization is expensive/requires planning and design time & resources that we don't have; 3) users are "technology"-d out 2/2 #learnchat
A5) I do struggle with personalization via technology inside an org for a few reasons: 1) difficult to parse out the threads where personalization is needed vs. nice-to-have; 1/2 #learnchat
Q5: How can technology better support personalized learning goals for individuals or teams? What tech/apps do you use? #LearnChat
A4) I think we have to set, and then meet or exceed learner expectations clearly before there will be a positive impact on learning or performance from any experience #learnchat
A3) If the informal or social learning is tied to a specific performance outcome (in work context), then that sets the expectations in itself. Ultimately, it has to tie back to goals, activities, feedback, reflection and integration into work. #LearnChat
Q4: What role do learner expectations play in designing impactful learning experiences? #LearnChat
I think they don't know what data they really need to drive business decisions, so they ask for what they think they want/need, and when we give it, it doesn't actually help them make decisions. But I'm certainly not in your situation... π€· #learnchat
they also ask for different things from different ppl/projects/teams and have impossible expectations based on existing infrastructure - and yet don't budget to get resources to provide what they're asking for... hence the challenge! #learnchat
turn off "filter replies by following? #learnchat
Q3: What are some creative ways to set and measure expectations for informal or social learning? #LearnChat
well, hopefully (and so far), our project gets to continue development of valuable resources because we can at least prove usage (step 1) with data other than anecdotal #learnchat - and we continue to work on the infrastructure req'd to show impact data π€ͺ
we've been asked to do a LOT of reporting this year that has been a struggle to figure out - but a fun challenge! #learnchat
A2) Our team is working on general instructional effectiveness initiatives as well as process improvements within our dept. so we can support the org goals and ppl who make those goals reality #learnchat
Q2: How do you plan to align learning goals with evolving workplace needs or societal trends this year? #LearnChat
Love that idea! #learnchat
ALL THE THINGS
A1) Honestly I'm in survival mode atm, so I guess learning how to focus and move forward professionally in spite of personal drama #learnchat
